Application Process

To learn more about the admissions process at North Broward Preparatory School, please select the grade level that applies to you.

  • Early Childhood Program – Ages 3-5 (Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten)
  • Lower School – Grades 1 - 5
  • Middle School – Grades 6 - 8
  • High School – Grades 9 - 12
  • Lighthouse Point Academy – for children with mild learning differences, Grades 3 - 12
  • Boarding – Grades 6 - 12

Application Dates

Families seeking day or boarding admission for school year should apply immediately. We will review applications based on space availability within the specific grade level.

How to Apply

Grades Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten

  • Submit an admission application.
  • Complete our Lower School Admission Application Supplement Form.
  • Ask a current teacher to complete the required Teacher Recommendation Form.
  • Provide copies of current academic records to admissions@nbps.org. We require report cards/progress reports reflecting previous year and current mid-year information. A Request for Records Form is provided for your convenience.(if applicable).
  • Provide copy of standardized test scores (if applicable).
  • Submit a copy of your child's birth certificate or passport.
  • Once all requirements have been submitted, the Office of Admissions will contact you to schedule an assessment and may ask to schedule a classroom visit day for your child

Grades 1 - 5

  • Submit an admission application.
  • Complete our Lower School Admission Application Supplement Form.

  • Ask student’s current principal, assistant principal, or guidance counselor to complete and submit the required Head of School Recommendation Form.
  • Ask a current teacher to complete and submit the required Teacher Recommendation Form.
  • Provide copies of current academic records. We require report cards/progress reports reflecting previous year and current mid-year information.
  • Submit standardized test scores (SSAT, FSA, etc.)
  • Have the student applicant complete the Applicant Student Statement Form.
  • Submit a birth certificate or passport as a form of identification for the applicant.

High School

  • Submit an admission application.
  • Complete our Upper School Admission Application Supplement Form.
  • All 9th grade applicants are required to submit an SSAT composite score. If you have not taken the SSAT, register to take the SSAT here and indicate North Broward Preparatory School as a score recipient. For 10th - 12th grade applicants, submit standardized testing (SSAT, PSAT, FSA, etc).
  • Ask student’s current principal, assistant principal, or guidance counselor to complete and submit the required Head of School Recommendation Form.
  • Ask a current teacher to complete and submit the required Teacher Recommendation Form.

Applying to North Broward Prep

  • Application: Complete our Boarding Admission application. (Please note the correct enrollment date that you seek to start).
  • Complete our Upper School Admission Application Supplement Form.
  • Teacher Recommendations: North Broward Prep requires two recommendations to be completed by school personnel who know you well. Recommendations from an English teacher and Math teacher are highly recommended.
  • Academic Transcripts: Submit all grade 9 and above including the current school year semester grades or course list if you are applying for grade 11 or 12. Mid-year applicants are required to submit a current course list. Transcripts can be uploaded to the online application or emailed to admissions@nbps.org.
  • Students requiring an F1 visa for study in the US: A copy of the student’s passport and a financial statement reflecting available funds to cover the cost of attendance (bank statement, for example) is required for NBP to issue the student’s I-20. This should be considered part of the application process.
  • Student Interview: Upon receipt of at least the Boarding Application, the student or parent is invited to schedule an interview with Mr. Mike Rodgers, Boarding Admission Manager at NBP. This can be scheduled by clicking here. (Please indicate Skype id or FaceTime number for your contact in the calendar appointment).
  • Admission Decisions: Decisions communicated via an emailed letter within 48 business hours of the completion of all of the above steps unless otherwise indicated or if additional information must be gathered to aid in the decision.
