Step 2 – Schedule a tour and interview

Visiting campus is a great opportunity to meet with current students, faculty, and interview with an Admissions Officer. Students unable to make it to campus may interview via Skype or by phone, and call our office at 207-824-7777 or email to schedule.

Step 3 – Application

  • Students can complete Gould’s online application or use the The Standard Application Online (SAO)
  • To be considered in the first round of admission, students must complete an application by February 1.
  • Students requesting Financial Aid should also complete NAIS’s School and Student Services forms before February 1.

Step 4 – Testing

Gould requires all applicants to submit some form of standardized testing. For domestic students, we accept SSAT, PSAT, SAT, or ACT depending on the applicant’s grade level. For international students, we require SSAT, TOEFL, or Duolingo English Test. Test results can be sent directly to Gould.

Application Fee

An application fee of $50 for domestic students and $100 for international students is required.

  • April 10 – Enrollment Contracts & Deposits Are Due

Application Timeline

Prior to February 1:

  • Schedule a campus tour/interview
  • Schedule the SSAT
    (PSAT, SAT, or ACT accepted for 11th, 12th, and PG applicants. TOEFL or Duolingo also required for International Students.)
  • Complete and send in your:
    • Application
    • Three Recommendations (Math Teacher, English Teacher, and Head/Principal/Guidance)
    • School Transcripts
    • Standardized Test Scores

February 1:

  • Gould Application Deadline:
    Students can complete Gould’s online application
    or use the The Standard Application Online (SAO)
  • Gould Financial Aid Application Deadline

March 10:

  • Acceptance packets are mailed to families whose applications are completed by February 1.
  • Financial Aid awards are mailed to families whose financial aid applications are completed by February 1.

April 10:

  • Enrollment decisions are due.
  • All families, new and returning, who have been offered financial aid awards must commit to enrollment or run the risk of losing their award.
  • Rolling admission continues if space is available.

Merit-Based Scholarships

Gould Academy has the honor of offering several opportunities for Merit Scholarship. These awards are given to students who have proven academic success and excel in arts, athletics, STEM/design thinking, and/or leadership qualities.

To be considered for our merit awards, student must:

  • Complete the application process with Gould
  • Be new boarding or day students entering grades 9-11
  • Continue to uphold excellence in Gould standards throughout their career here

Interested families should submit a letter of interest to the committee along with any supporting information they would like to share to admissions@gouldacademy.org. The student and family will be notified with their acceptance on March 10 if they are receiving an award.
