The high school application and decision-making process can be daunting. There are so many fantastic schools out there, highlighting their unique programs and offerings in the hopes that you’ll see a future for yourself in their classrooms and hallways. Or perhaps you’re not looking much at all, simply heard of Midland through the grapevine and thought you’d pause for a moment to learn more. Whatever journey you are on: welcome!
We are here to make this process as easy and straightforward for you as possible. Our application process emphasizes your experience; our goal is to ensure that you wind up at a school in which you feel that you belong and can be challenged to grow. If that’s Midland, we’ll be thrilled; if that’s somewhere else, we’ll be thrilled all the same.
That’s why our process is simple and student-centric, with thoughtful opportunities in which to see whether living your education here at Midland is the right fit for you. Explore our application process steps below, and don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions.

Explore campus & interview
We often say that Midland is a place you have to see to understand, and we are delighted to be able to offer tours to masked and fully vaccinated visitors while anticipating the return of our long-standing Shadow Day tradition in spring. Fill out the form below to start planning your visit! As part of your application process, we also ask that you take time to sit down with us for an interview, which we often include during a student’s campus visit. Please reach out to the Admissions Office if you have any questions.
Start your application!
We can’t wait to read your application, which you can complete through the SSAT Standard Application Online (SAO). Midland is currently test-optional, but we encourage you to look through the application soon — including checking out the supplemental portion of our application. Our holistic review process begins in February, so please submit your application and application no later than February 15.
Additional Information for Homeschooled Applicants:
We are always thrilled to see homeschooled applicants, as the unique, hands-on experience of homeschooling can transfer beautifully into Midland’s educational philosophy.
As you fill out your application, please complete the letter of recommendation portion as outlined and, if available, include an additional 1-2 letters of recommendation from adults (e.g., tutors, coaches) who are not your parents or guardians. If you don’t have a traditional transcript, please submit a 1-2 page course description or syllabus that outlines the coursework you have taken for the last two years. We also highly recommend that you take the SSAT or ISEE, especially if you have a non-traditional transcript.
