Welcome to Ojai Valley School! We are college prep day and boarding school for outgoing students who are eager to embrace challenges and participate in all aspects of campus life. We strive to enroll students from PK-12 from all backgrounds whose talents, skills, and interests will enrich the entire OVS community.

Our application materials are available on our website. We also accept the Standard Online Application. The January 15 application deadline has past. However, space may be available in some grades. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis after the deadline as space permits. To inquire about submitting a late application, please contact our Admissions Office at (805) 646-1423 ex. 1259.

To inquire about submitting a late application, please contact our Admissions Office at (805) 646-1423 ex. 1259. The application process varies by grade level. Please see below for details.

Applicants for grades 6-12 must submit the following:

  • Online application. This includes general information about a candidate and his or her family, as well as a student and parent questionnaire. OVS will also accept the SSAT Standard Online Application (SAO) or The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) Common Application
  • Essay or Writing Sample
  • Transcripts
  • English Recommendation, Math Recommendation, and Personal Recommendation
  • Testing. OVS requires testing for all applicants to high school, grades 9-12. OVS prefers the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) but will accept the Independent Schools Entrance Exam (ISEE). Our SSAT test code is 5536. For international candidates applying to middle school, grades 6-8, we also recommend the TOEFL junior to demonstrate English proficiency.

Applicants for grades 1-5 must submit the following:

  • Online application. This includes general information about a candidate and his or her family, including the parent questionnaire
  • Transcripts
  • Teacher Recommendation
  • All applicants and their parents will conduct interviews in-person or via Zoom after all documents have been received. Class visits are strongly encouraged so students can become familiar with the school environment.

Applicants for grades PK-K must submit the following:

  • Online application. This includes general information about a candidate and his or her family, including the parent questionnaire
  • Teacher Recommendation (where applicable)
  • All applicants and their parents will conduct interviews in-person or via Zoom after all documents have been received. Class visits are strongly encouraged so students can become familiar with the school environment.
