Before you apply
Sanctioned by our Board of Management, our Enrolment Policy reflects our welcoming, inclusive and caring ethos. Our Boards asks that before you apply for a place in our school, you understand and accept the following:
- Only the parent(s) or legal guardians of the child named can apply for a place for a child in our school.
- All applications must be fully completed (where possible) and signed by a parent or legal guardian.
- The receipt of a fully completed (where possible) application for enrolment form does not guarantee that the child named will be offered a place in the requested class in our school.
- We operate under the Patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin and we are a Catholic school. Children and families other faiths and beliefs are welcomed and included in our school.
- We welcome children from the local parish and children who live elsewhere.
- The child must be at least 4 years of age on September 1st for the year he or she is due to start in Junior Infants. For example, the child starting in Junior Infants on 1st September must be 4 years of age on or before 1st September.
- For applications to classes other than Junior Infants, the offer of a place is based on current enrolment in that class at the time of application and the sanction of the Board of Management.
- For applications to classes other than Junior Infants, the most recent school report/reports from the child's current school must be included.
- If your child has a diagnosed condition or special education need, the relevant reports must be attached to the application.
- All children must be fully toilet-trained before starting school in Scoil Chaitríona Baggot Street. If a child has a diagnosed condition or special education need which requires support, the relevant report/s must be attached to the application.
- Where necessary, our school may operate a waiting-list system. This is cleared by September 15th of the new school year. We endeavour to keep all parents or legal guardians as accurately informed as possible about the child's place on any such list.
- Upon application of a place in any class in our school, it is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to inform our school of any change of address, telephone number or other relevant details or circumstances in writing.
- Parents or legal guardians who do not respond to the offer of a place in our school by the stated date will lose the offered place.
