Crèche & Kindergarten

Our admissions process in detail:

Online Registration

As a first step, parents need to register their child by filling in the non-binding online application form.

Submission of Documents

We will contact you by e-mail in the autumn preceding your child’s planned entry to request submission of the necessary income information as our tuition fees are income based.

Informal interview and play morning

Depending on the expected number of free places, we select a respective number of parents to come with their children for an interview and play morning. Only families who completed the application can be taken into consideration. This will take place in the spring proceeding your child’s planned entry.

Selection is based on the following criteria:

  • Availability of places; our crèche children have priority over siblings and children who come from other Phorms institutions. All other free places will be allocated to external children.
  • Social and cultural diversity and a balanced proportion of girls and boys
  • Time of registration

The informal interview affords parents an opportunity to introduce themselves personally as well as getting more information about our concept and organizational matters.

Place Offer

After the informal interview, we offer selected children a place at our early years and send out the contractual documentation.

Kindergarten Contract

Once you have received the documentation you will have three weeks to complete it and return it to us.

Primary School

Our admissions process in detail:

Online Registration

Submission of documents

We will contact you by e-mail in the autumn preceding your child’s planned entry to request submission of the necessary documentation.

Assessment

We select participants for an assessment from the children who have been registered. The objective of the Phorms assessment is to enable us to gain an initial impression of whether children’s development is in line with their age.

Invitation to the assessment takes place on the basis of a selection of children who have been registered. Selection is based on the following criteria.

  • Social and cultural diversity and a balanced proportion of girls and boys
  • Siblings or switch from another Phorms school
  • Time of registration

On the assessment itself, the children are given age-appropriate tasks to solve. Parents are then afforded the opportunity of an informal interview in which they can present the reasons for their registration and their aims for their child’s education.

Place Offer

After the assessment, we offer selected children a school place and send out the contractual documentation.

School Contract

Once you have received the documentation you will have three weeks to complete it and return it to us. The school year begins on the same day as at state schools within Bavaria.

Secondary School

Our admissions procedure in detail:

We accept students in all year levels throughout the school year into our secondary school, given that there is a place available in the respective year level. If the admission criteria are met, we will start the further admissions process.

The main admission criteria are, above others, that the student fulfills the requirements of a Bavarian secondary school as well as that the student passes the trial days at our school.

Online Registration

As a first step, parents need to register their child by filling in the non-binding online application form.

In the next step, we send out a confirmation of the registration and our admissions team contacts the parents to discuss the further steps as well as to request the report cards and other documents.

Submission of documents

In order to complete the application and to include the child in the admissions process, it is necessary to submit the following documents:

  • the last two end of year report cards and the current mid-year report card (if applicable)
  • parent questionnaire
  • proof of income of the legal guardians

The documents will give us an impression of the child and we learn more about the student‘s academic level in the core subjects as well as about their language skills.

Parent Interview

After reviewing the documents, we will invite the parents and the child to a personal interview with the leadership of the secondary school.

We consider, above others, the following criteria for who we invite:

  • good grade point average
  • Language sequence English-Latin or English-French
  • Specific subjects applicable in the Bavarian system (e.g. Spanish or economics)

In addition, the following criteria are considered:

  • Siblings or change from another Phorms School
  • Social and cultural diversity and a balanced mix of girls and boys
  • Time of registration at Phorms Munich

Trial Days

As the next step, the child takes part in three to five trial days. In the trial days, the student gets to know our daily school life and our teachers are able to obtain a better picture of the social and academic skills of the student.

Place Offer and School Contract

If the student passes the admissions process successfully and our teachers approve of enrolment, we send out a place offer by email. After accepting the place offer, the parents receive the school contract by mail.
