The step-by-step enrolment information for the St Andrew's College Pre-school, Preparatory and Secondary Schools can be found in the pages below. If you have any questions about the enrolment process, please contact our Registrar, Lynn Smith at enrol@stac.school.nz or +6439402016
Pre-school: Children Aged 2–5 Years
At the St Andrew's Pre-school we know that it can be daunting to enrol your child in a new centre. Once you have decided that our Pre-school is the best childcare option for your child, please following and complete our enrolment procedure.
- Start the enrolment process by obtaining an application pack from the Pre-school. You may wish to visit the Pre-school at this time to view our facilities, and see a class in action.
- Complete and return the application form included in the pack, and you will be added to our waiting list.
- Placements will be confirmed approximately two terms prior to your desired start date.
- Once placement is confirmed, we ask you to complete an enrolment form and pay a deposit, which will be credited to your first account instalment.
- You will then be invited to join us for a pre-entry tour of the school and to meet members of staff.
Preparatory School: Students in Years 1–8
In most years, and at most year levels, the number of applicants for our Preparatory School exceeds the spaces available. When this occurs, applicants are ranked in order of applying and those not immediately successful are wait-listed. Please note, siblings have priority for placement. To avoid disappointment we recommend you express your interest in enrolment as early as possible. Applications are welcomed at any time. However, most children are accepted during Term 2 (late April – early July) of the year prior to starting.
- Start the enrolment process by completing the appropriate application form and paying an application fee of $150.
- Upon receipt of your application, your details will be loaded into our database, to ensure you receive important information as the process progresses.
- No formal interview is required as part of the application process. However, it is best if you and your child meet with the Preparatory School Principal to discuss and view the school’s unique learning environment. Please email the Assistant to the Preparatory School Principal, Charlotte Penrose at CPE@stac.school.nz, to find a time that suits.
- If an offer of enrolment is made, we will ask you to confirm acceptance with a non-refundable acceptance fee of $400, plus a non-refundable bond/deposit of $1000.
Secondary School: Middle School Years 9–11 and Senior College Years 12–13
Applications to study at Years 9–13 level are accepted all year. However, please note that applications for Year 9 students for the following year close during May in the previous year.
- Start the enrolment process by completing the appropriate application form. An application fee of $150 is charged at this time.
- Upon receipt of your application, your details will be loaded into our database, to ensure you receive important information as the process progresses.
- We will contact prospective students to request copies of academic reports from previous schools. If your child is new to St Andrew's we will invite you in for an interview.
- If your child is a sibling of a student or a child of a past student then please let us know if you would like an interview. This interview is an opportunity for us to learn more about them, and for your family to learn more about St Andrew’s. The atmosphere at this interview is relaxed and informal.
- If the application is successful, we will make a formal offer of enrolment. If the application is unsuccessful at this time, your child will be wait-listed.
- As part of your offer, you will be given a clear Acceptance Date, by which time a non-refundable acceptance fee of $500 plus a non-refundable bond of $1000 is payable.
- If your child is entering Year 9 and their enrolment is confirmed, they will be asked to sit a placement test in September. Results of this test, along with academic achievements at previous schools, will determine their core curriculum classes when they join us the following year.
