How to apply

STEP 1: APPLY ONLINE

Before you apply please ensure you have all the necessary documents. Upload the following documents to our online application form:

  • Complete an online application form
  • Submit scanned image of valid Passport
  • Submit scanned image of student academic records from last two (2) to three (3) years of studies. Please send a copy of your transcripts in both your official first language and English if applicable.
  • References Optional
  • If you have trouble loading the documents during the application process, please send them directly to admissions@lia-edu.ca

Within 24 to 48 hours you will receive a conditional letter of acceptance. You will then need to schedule a Skype interview with one of our Admissions staff. The Skype interview is designed to get to know you better, as well as assess your English skills prior to your arrival. This will be your opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding our school and/or academic programs!

Fill out our Skype request form and one of our Marketing and Recruitment representatives will be in touch with you within 2 business days after submission.

STEP 2: SEND DEPOSIT

Once your application has been processed by our Admissions Office, you will receive an invoice from finance@lia-edu.ca. When you receive the invoice, please make payment of:

  • Application Fee ($300 CAD)
  • Custodianship Fee ($600 CAD) Only if applicant is 18 and under
  • Tuition Deposit ($5,000 CAD). Please note: If study permit is denied, tuition deposit will be refunded, minus the bank transfer fee.

Payment can be made via Flywire or Bank Wire Transfer. Receipts for all payments are sent by email. Contact finance@lia-edu.ca if you have any questions.

STEP 3: RECEIVE OFFICIAL OFFER LETTER

Once the application fee and tuition deposit has been received, LIA Admissions will send you an official letter of acceptance, signed by our Principal, from admissions@lia-edu.ca (or by express mail if requested).

Now you can apply for your Canadian Study Permit!

STEP 4: APPLY FOR STUDY PERMIT

To apply for your Canadian Study Permit, please visit the Government of Canada website to find out how you can apply directly online.

Once you have submitted your documents for a study permit, please send a confirmation email to admissions@lia-edu.ca

STEP 5: CONFIRM ENROLLMENT

Inform LIA as soon as your study permit authorization is confirmed.

STEP 6: FINALIZE ENROLLMENT

Congratulations! You have your study permit and are now that much closer to arriving in Canada! LIA will now provide you with a pre-arrival handbook, and confirm your accommodation requests, along with setting up your arrival date and airport pick up.

At least one week before your arrival you must send all remaining payments including tuition and boarding fees.

Note: All flight information must be received at least one week in advance in order to allow time to arrange airport pickup and accommodation.

STEP 7: START SCHOOL

Arrive in Canada, start school and achieve your educational goals!

Please Note: London International Academy accepts applications all year round with four specific admission periods. International students are advised to apply as early as possible, since obtaining a study permit at the nearest Canadian Embassy or Canadian Consulate may take an extended period of time.

Academic Scholarships

Are you a well rounded student who is highly motivated to achieve academic success? Find out how you can apply for an academic entry scholarship at LIA.

To apply for an academic entry scholarship, you must submit scanned copies of your academic records from the last two (2) to three (3) years. Please submit these documents to admissions@lia-edu.ca. Reference letters and any other supporting documents to show the applicant is also active outside of the classroom is encouraged.

Conditions of scholarship:

  • Student must reside in boarding facilities at LIA
  • Student will act as an ambassador for LIA during the academic year (this includes running for student council)
  • Student must maintain over 80% academic average at LIA for the scholarship to roll into 2nd year
  • All other fees including application fee, custodianship sign fee, registration, student debit account, health insurance, uniform, activity fee, and airport pick up are not included in scholarship
  • In order to graduate, there is a mandatory literacy test that takes place every year in March. All students will take a mock test to see if they will need to take the OSSLT prep course. Some student may be exempt from taking the prep course. Otherwise the charge for the course is half a credit (approx. $1,200). This fee is not included in the scholarship
  • If the scholarship is not accepted one month after the offer, the scholarship will no longer be valid and will be offered to the next scholarship applicant.
