We are a school which values academic achievement, but also one which insists on our children living well, living balanced lives, and flourishing within a community. Welcome to Meadowridge, more than a school, but a community of learners and an expression of common values.
The search for the right school is an exciting time – it’s your chance to raise important questions and make decisions as a family: what matters to us? why does it matter? will my children be happy? At Meadowridge, we look forward to helping answer these questions.
Inquiring, Visiting & Applying to Meadowridge Our admissions process is set-up specifically to determine if your child and family are the right fit for Meadowridge. From inquiry to assessment, we strive to get to know each family and the potential of each child.
All of our Open Houses have been postponed in light of COVID-19 and to support social distancing.
Applicants must complete the online application form and pay the $400 non-refundable application fee by the deadline date. After an application form for each child is submitted with payment, there are grade-specific items (see below) required in order to complete each child’s application in full. Be sure to upload all required documents.
Applicants are required to participate in an entrance assessment to determine their suitability for our school’s program. Based on the grade level the applicant is applying to, assessments range from one to two hours in length. Only applicants with completed applications, including all supporting documents will be invited to grade level assessments.
Selected applicants in grades 1 through 11 are required to attend a day at Meadowridge through the months of January and February. Applicants will have the opportunity to participate in class activities and get a feel for our school.
Applicants will be contacted regarding the admissions decision shortly after their assessment and/or classroom visit. Once an applicant has been accepted, an offer letter will be issued via email. If the desired grade level is full, the accepted student will be placed on our waiting list. In order for an accepted student’s seat to be held, the MEID deposit and New Student Fee are required to be paid in full.
Our Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes fill up fast. If you are interested in these grades please apply as soon as possible.
A recommendation letter from your child’s current teacher, daycare provider, extra curricular instructor, or another adult (not a relative) is required.
All Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten applicants are observed during a 60-minute visit where our Elementary School Principal and faculty observe children playing and socializing during various activities. There is no preparation necessary. This is meant to determine the child’s social and cognitive ability and readiness for a full day program.
If your child is currently attending a school, a recommendation from your child’s current teacher is required. We recognize that in some cases for our young applicants a teacher recommendation may not be possible. In this case, we ask that a reference letter from another adult (daycare provider, extra-curricular instructor) that is not a relative be submitted. Please use the recommendation form provided in the Apply Portal.
Report Cards for the current school year and, if applicable, completed Report Cards from the previous two years. Please upload a PDF version to the Apply Portal.
Grade 1 through Grade 5 applicants are assessed by a combination of developmental testing and an in-house assessment component to determine student’s readiness for these grades. The testing occurs in a relaxed environment and lasts no more than 90 minutes. Assessment Days are typically hosted in January and February.
Grade 6 through Grade 10 applicants must complete and submit their Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) results. There are no exceptions. Applicants are required to register and take the test at their own expense. The Meadowridge SSAT Code is 4992. For more information and to register for a test date, please visit their website at www.ssat.org.
At Meadowridge, we believe that admission is to both the child and the family, and that parental involvement is integral to student success. As such, we want to get to know you better through an interview.
All Grade Levels, International applicants are required to complete the steps outlined for their grade level as well as some additional requirements. Please click below to learn about applying to Meadowridge as an International student.
