Acs’ admissions operates as per the admissions policy and admission waitlist guidelines, on a first come, first served basis, making applications available by request one year in advance. We are happy to get you all set up well in advance of these important dates:

New Academic year

  • Admissions application packages will be available by request for the academic year starting on wednesday, september 9 at 9:00 am
  • New kindergarten – grade 12 students: please fill in the inquiry form to get the process started.

Application process for new families (k-12)

Step 1:

Let us know you are interested in applying to acs by completing our admissions inquiry form. Our admissions coordinator will contact you to answer any questions and get the process started.

Step 2:

receive the login for the online application package from our admissions coordinator. A sample of the application package is available on our application & tuition page. Before you begin acs’ online application package for kindergarten through grade 12, here are a few important pieces of information: 

  • It takes roughly one hour to complete the full application package.
  • Once you start your online application you can save and return at a later time/date.
  • Signatures of both parent(s)/guardian(s) are needed to complete this application package with the exceptions of: a widow or a sole custody agreement for single parent situations. Entering your name is the equivalent to your signature.

The online application package contains:

  • Family profile
  • Student profile(s) – one per student
  • Ministry of education grant approval
  • Pastoral reference – download pdf form in online application
  • Community standards
  • Partnership agreement (to view)
  • Personal information parental consent
  • Bus application (if interested or required for attendance)
  • Kindergarten student profile (if applicable)
  • Kindergarten scheduling (if applicable)

You will need to upload a pdf or a photo in .jpg format of the following documents:

  • Birth certificate for each student
  • The most recent report card for each student
  • The student’s iep (if applicable)
  • Any report(s) from the child development center, ministry of children and family development, hospital, and/or health agencies (if applicable)
  • Relevant immigration document(s) (if applicable)
  • Relevant legal guardian document(s) (if applicable)
  • Relevant legal custody document(s) (if applicable)

Application fee:

  • $200 per family
  • The application fee is refundable upon attendance at the new parent orientation in september. Please see application fee policy for specific details.
  • Payment options: Acs website online payment (credit card accepted).
  • In person at the secondary campus reception (cash or cheque accepted) during administration office hours.

Once you have submitted your entire and completed application package:

  • Completed application packages are date and time stamped in order of receipt and processed according to acs’ admissions policy and admission waitlist guidelines, which are used in case of waitlist decisions.
  • You will receive confirmation of your “application complete date & time stamp” via email.

Step 3:

If a spot is available, we will contact you for an interview appointment/tour.

  • Interviews are conducted by the principal at each campus: elementary, middle, and secondary. 
  • Learning support assessments are required for students in kindergarten to grade 5, special education students (learning support), home schooled students and at the principal’s request.  You will be contacted for an appointment as needed.
  • Students will be accepted based on space and/or suitable program availability or waitlist guidelines.*
  • Notification of acceptance will be given by the admissions coordinator.
  • You will receive an acceptance package to be completed and returned in order to be registered, holding a spot for the student(s).

International admissions criteria

Being an international student is serious work! You may be learning in a different language, but you will also be learning in a different culture that has different ways of thinking and acting. At acs, we have high academic and behavioural expectations of our students.  

We encourage you to apply if you are a student who:

  • Can demonstrate basic english fluency
  • Is successful in your home country
  • Is excited about learning and committed to working hard
  • Is interested in learning english and sharing your culture with the acs community
  • Is open to learning about another culture
  • Is excited about forming friendships with canadian students and willing to integrate with the school community
  • Understands that you are called to live a faithful life for god

Students who attend acs must demonstrate:

  • Commitment to their studies
  • Willingness to speak english while at school
  • Willingness to follow all school rules 

Steps for admission:

Note: students are accepted as applications come in. To ensure acceptance, please apply early. Applications for fall enrolment are accepted between january and april.

  • Be aware of citizenship and immigration canada’s procedures for studying and/or visiting in canada.

  • Fill in an inquiry form to request more information or express your interest in applying to acs.
  • An international program staff member will contact you to answer questions and provide an application form if requested.
  • Complete the abbotsford christian school international application form and submit it, along with all pertinent documents, by email, to the international program coordinator, international@abbotsfordchristian.com.
  • Pay the international application fee of $400.
  • Students applying for grades 9-12 will be asked for a sample of writing and will have a brief interview over skype or the phone.

Once these steps are complete, you should receive notification of your status within a week. 

After acceptance:

  • You will receive an invoice for payment of tuition. Tuition can be made by bank transfer or cheque.
  • Once payment has been received, a formal letter will be sent to you for citizenship immigration canada to issue you a study permit.
  • You will be notified about an orientation session. 
  • If you will be part of our homestay program, read through our homestay program guide to prepare you for the homestay experience.

Your arrival in canada:

  • Please notify the school about your arrival date.
  • Bring your passports, study permit, and contact information to the orientation meeting.
  • Medical coverage: for the first three months of living in canada, guard.me. After three months, students will receive medical services plan of bc  and guard me plus plan.
