Academic success and character development are our primary mission at TFS. Continuous Enrollment

At Tallulah Falls School, we recognize the value in a sustained, long-term partnership with families in the education of their children. A seamless transition from the Middle through Upper School provides a consistent, thorough progression through academic coursework. Because of this philosophy, Tallulah Falls School is pleased to offer a concept in enrollment management called Continuous Enrollment. From the time of admission, your child will be considered enrolled at Tallulah Falls School through their high school graduation. Enrollment contracts are signed in the first year of attendance only.

Admissions Process Overview

The admissions process consists of four steps:

• Parent/guardian will submit the application and supporting documents.
• The Admissions Committee will review the application and supporting documents to determine if an interview will be granted.
• If necessary, the Admissions staff will contact the parent/guardian to schedule an interview.
• The admissions decision will be communicated to the parent/guardian.

Criteria for Admission

• Performing at or above grade level in his/her academic courses without special accommodations through IEP or 504 plans
• Demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement and personal development through overall academic GPA, consistent school attendance, participating in school activities, and good behavior
• Express a natural curiosity and love for learning
• Desire to be a member of the TFS educational community

U.S. Applicants

Below is a checklist of items required when submitting an application for admission, including all of the necessary forms, letters and deadlines. Application Checklist

• Submit completed Online Application and application fee of $50
• Recommendation forms must be submitted online (see Recommendation Documents page on the admissions application)
• Forward the signed Records Release Form to the current school. The current/most recent school should then forward the following documents (current year to date plus two previous years):
  • Academic Transcripts
  • Discipline Reports
  • Attendance report
  • Standardized Test Scores
  • Individualized Learning Plans (if applicable)

Application Fee

A non-refundable application fee of $50 is required for domestic students.

Transcripts and Standardized Test Scores

School records must include a transcript which covers at least two years of an applicant's school career including current academic grades. The records should also include the discipline report, attendance records and standardized test scores.

If standardized test scores are not available, or more information is needed regarding a student's abilities, he or she may be required to take the SSAT (Secondary Schools Admission Test). Please contact the Admissions Office to determine if this test will be necessary.

TFS will also accept ISEE (Independent School Entrance Examination) scores.

Student Visit

One of the most important components of the application process is a visit to Tallulah Falls School. Visiting campus is a wonderful way to determine if TFS is the best option for your educational, social and personal goals. As you are preparing to submit an application, call or email the Admissions Office to schedule a visit. With advance notice, it is also possible to meet with faculty, students, coaches and/or administrators.

Admissions Committee

All applicants receive careful consideration by the Admissions Committee. The committee attempts to make fair decisions in every case, considering not only what our school can offer each applicant but also what contributions are possible by the applicant to the TFS community. When submitting an application to TFS, parents should understand the decision of the Admissions Committee is made with the best interest of each applicant as the primary concern. TFS admits qualified students without regard to race, color, or national and ethnic origin.

International Applicants

Tallulah Falls School is proud of its diverse student population and its international students who comprise approximately 15% of the student body.

Application Deadline

Applications for the current academic year should be submitted by Feb. 1st of current year. Late applications will be considered for grades levels which have vacancies.

Application Checklist

• Transcripts for the current and previous two school years.
• Recommendation forms from the Principal/Guidance Counselor, English and math teacher (included within the online application).
• English Test Scores (TOEFL, TOEFL Junior, IELTS, iTEP, SLATE or Duolingo).
• Admission Interview- completed via SKYPE. An admissions representative will schedule an interview after the required forms are submitted.

Application Fee

A non-refundable application fee of $100 is required for international students.

Testing

Tallulah Falls School requires candidates to submit one of the following tests: TOEFL, TOEFL Junior, IELTS, iTEP, SSAT or DUOLINGO.

Please note the TOEFL is designed for older or college-bound students and the TEOFL Junior is intended for students age 11-15. Educational Testing Service (ETS), the organization that administers the TOEFL test, offers an internet-based test (IBT) as an alternative to the paper-based exams.

To Receive an I-20 and obtain an F1 visa:

Tallulah Falls School is authorized under U.S. Federal Law to enroll nonimmigrant students. Once an international student has been notified they have been accepted to Tallulah Falls School, the following must be completed or submitted before the school can issue nonimmigrant documents:

• Non-refundable tuition deposit paid
• Signed enrollment contract
• Medical information required by Tallulah Falls School
• Bank document verifying funds available for tuition and fees
• A copy of the student's passport

Because these requirements may take more than a few days to complete, students are encouraged to begin the process immediately after being notified of acceptance.
