Whether you are considering us for day or boarding, for The Nest pre-school, pre-prep or prep ages, we are here to help every step of the way to make the admissions journey an easy one.

Having explored our website, we encourage you to come and see us and experience our beautiful surroundings for yourself. We invite you to meet our charismatic Head, Gareth Jones, his dedicated staff team and some our enthusiastic and friendly pupils.

We can arrange a personal visit, or please do come and join one of our fun and friendly open days held every Autumn and Spring.

When you have decided Bilton Grange is the ideal place for your child, we will guide you through the registration process.

The Admissions Process

Children can join us at all ages and stages subject to availability, but the main points of entry are:

  • Pre-prep – The Nest (pre-school) for children aged three and Reception, aged four
  • Prep – for children aged eight (Year 4) and also children aged 11 (Year 7) joining from secondary schools which finish at 11 or perhaps as overseas students

We are delighted that you are considering Bilton Grange for your son or daughter and our friendly and experienced Admissions team are here to guide you through the process. Many of our children join Bilton Grange at the beginning of their journey into The Nest or Reception, however pupils are welcome to join at any age, and throughout the academic year if a place is available.

Visit
You are warmly invited to visit Bilton Grange on one of our Open Days or for a personal tour. We offer tours during school hours led by one of our Admissions team on a date to suit you and your family. Gareth Jones, our Head, will give you a true feeling of why Bilton Grange is the very best choice for your child and how we make learning the adventure it should be. Register
Registering your child is the next step and we can let you know of place availability in your required year group. Early registration is recommended, particularly for our Early Years – the deadline for Nest (Pre-School) and Reception entry is October 14 .

Once the registration form and (non-refundable) registration fee have been received, we will confirm receipt and you will move to the next stage of the process.

Experience
Once your child is registered, we will invite them to enjoy a flavour of what Bilton Grange has to offer. Our Early Years children will enjoy a Discovery Session whilst Years 1 to 3 will enjoy a full Discovery Day where we will informally assess them to ensure that they are able to access our curriculum. For children applying to Year 4 and above, in addition to the Discovery Day, we will arrange assessments in a suite of reasoning tests to ensure that they are able access the curriculum and that they are able to make the most of the opportunities available to them. We will also ask for their latest school report prior to making an offer.

Offer
At the end of your child’s Discovery Session or Day we hope to be in a position to offer them a place, subject to availability. You will be asked to secure your child’s place by acceptance of our offer, in conjunction with the terms and conditions and by paying an Entrance Fee.

Welcome
A very warm welcome awaits all new families joining Bilton Grange. You will receive a Welcome Letter with links to our on-line Joining Information as well as handbooks and uniform and equipment lists.

International pupils

Enquire
We welcome applications from international children. Many families choose to apply using an educational agency to help guide them through the process and we are happy to accept these applications. Please do get in touch to see if we already have a preferred agency operating in your region by emailing admissions@biltongrange.co.uk.

We accept applications throughout the year and into all year groups, space permitting, and if you are seeking a boarding place, we are also able to sponsor your child under the Child Student Visa route if required. We welcome applications from the September before the intended academic year of entry.

Visit
You are warmly invited to visit Bilton Grange in person if you are able to. Individual tours can be booked by emailing admissions@biltongrange.co.uk and Open Days may be booked by completing the form We of course understand that visits are not always possible from overseas and we are happy to meet children and their families via Teams. Register
Registering your child is the next step and we can let you know if there is space or if the year group is operating a waiting list. Early registration is always recommended. Once the registration form and (non-refundable) registration fee of £200 have been received, we will confirm receipt and it is on to the next stage of the process.

Rugby School Group has partnered with Flywire to make international payments safe and easy. It is now possible for our overseas families to pay from their home bank, and in their home currency, in nearly all territories offering competitive foreign exchange rates compared to traditional banks, This also allows payment tracking through the transfer process.

Assess
Pupils looking to join in Year 3 or below will not have formal testing but are instead invited to join us for a Discovery Day to mingle with our current classes.

Pupils seeking entry for Years 4 to 7 are invited to submit their UKiset reports together with recent school reports (in English translation where necessary). If UKiset reports are not available we will arrange for online assessments in a suite of reasoning tests. English language ability must be of a level that will enable your child to thrive in their new environment with a higher level required for pupils seeking Year 7 or Year 8 entry, where the minimum level is B1. If you are planning a visit to the UK, we also warmly invite your child to spend a day or stay overnight with us to get a real taste of life at Bilton Grange, free of charge.

Following the formal assessment process, your child may be invited to an interview with the Headmaster, which will often take place via Teams if you are not able to attend in person.

Offer
Successful candidates will receive a formal written offer of a place. If you choose to accept the place, it is secured following receipt of the Acceptance Form, Entrance Fee, and for those living outside the UK/EU, the Additional Deposit.

For pupils with existing immigration permission to live and study in the UK we will request evidence of this permission. Bilton Grange holds a Child Student Visa sponsorship licence and we are happy to sponsor boarding pupils for the duration of their stay at Bilton Grange. For those pupils requiring Child Student Visa sponsorship, we will issue you with a full Guidance Pack which will assist you through the process of applying for a visa and guide you through the documentation we will need to see. The school will then raise a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) which you will need when applying for the visa.
