Saint Stanislaus High School

It all began with a vision of one individual – Father Andre Coindre. In 1818, Father Coindre established an orphanage and trade school for homeless boys in Lyon, France. The need was so great that he founded the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in 1821 to staff his charitable work. These men dedicated themselves to the apostolate of Catholic education. Father Coindre’s mission, which began in 1821 continues today, almost two hundred years later.

Saint Stanislaus continues to build on this inspirational vision today. We give our students a strong education, prepare them for life, and give them knowledge and love of religion. At Saint Stanislaus, our students work hard each day to develop their talents to the fullest. Whether it be in the classroom, on the athletic field, in a club, or in service to others, students are challenged to develop their skills and prepare themselves for an exciting future.

Since 1854 when Father Stanislaus Buteux invited the Brothers of the Sacred Heart to come to Bay St. Louis, Saint Stanislaus has graduated more than 6,200 young men. These young men have made us proud through their accomplishments as men of character. Saint Stanislaus alumni have built very successful lives both in their chosen professions and in their contributions to the community. These graduates carry with them a strong Saint Stanislaus spirit that remains with them forever.

What is the best gift you can give to your son? It is the gift of an education and a formation which will enable him to become the person God has created him to be. We welcome you to consider joining us at Saint Stanislaus.

Our Campus and Our Community

Saint Stanislaus connects students from around the world in a safe and strong learning environment. We are nestled within the Gulf Coast in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Bay St. Louis is a quaint, artistic town located just east of New Orleans. It provides not only a scenic backdrop to our campus, but also allows us to utilize the Gulf of Mexico to expand our educational opportunities in marine science and our recreational opportunities on the beach and in the water.

Our combination of boarding students from around the nation and around the world together with our students from the local area creates a vibrant and dynamic school community that is a blend of ideas and cultures. Today’s world is interconnected and at Saint Stanislaus, our students experience this international community firsthand.
