The Piney Woods School provides students an excellent education within a Christian community through hands-on, experiential learning. We seek students who have demonstrated strong performance and strong academic promise. In order to apply for admission to The Piney Woods School, we ask prospective students to:

• Demonstrate academic potential and seriousness about receiving a high-quality education
• Submit a good record of psychosocial values (must not have a record of school expulsions, suspensions, or arrests.)
• Possess at least a 2.0 Grade Point Average
• Demonstrate responsible citizenship and strong leadership potential.
• Receive satisfactory recommendations form:
  • Current English Teacher
  • Current Mathematics Teacher
  • Guidance Counselor or Principal (Transcript Request and School Report Form)
• Complete a "Leadership" Essay

Campus Tour

The best way to learn more about The Piney Woods School is to schedule a visit. Our historic campus has captivated visitors since its humble beginnings in 1909. Learning about our rich history and tradition is as easy as scheduling a campus tour today.

We offer daily tours and shadow days for prospective students. You can also schedule a tour as a family. Once you see the campus and meet The Piney Woods School family, you will feel like you are at home. If you are interested in scheduling a tour, please contact our Admissions Team. We would very much like to meet you and encourage you to tour our campus. We appreciate your interest and hope to assist you in any way we can.

Open House

Our Open House days are designed to give prospective students and families an overview of the exciting opportunities we have to offer. During the open house, you will meet our administration and admissions team, learn about our innovative experiential learning curriculum, tour our campus, find out about campus/residential life, ask questions and meet members of our faculty as well as get assistance with admissions and finance.

Open House also allows prospective students and families to tour the campus and learn of the legacy of Dr. Laurence C. Jones, the school’s founder. Our unique and historical buildings convey the rich legacy of this century-old institution. Our students, staff, and faculty are daily symbols of our commitment to the Head, Heart, and Hands philosophy. Come see us!
