Application Process

We are honored by your interest in Wasatch Academy. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. Deciding on a school is not an easy choice, and we are committed to making Wasatch Academy’s admissions process informative and simple. The following steps will guide you through the application process. Please do not hesitate to call us at (435) 462-1400 or (800) 634-4690 (toll-free) or email us at admissions@wasatchacademy.org with any questions.

Application Components

With rolling admissions, Wasatch Academy welcomes motivated and talented students of good character entering 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades as well as those applying for our University Foundations program. For a candidate to be considered for admission to Wasatch Academy, the following components are required:

STEP 1 Submit Online Application

Families apply to Wasatch Academy with our secure online application form or the Standard Application Online (SAO). The formal application includes a candidate profile with a non-refundable $100 application fee ($200 for international applicants), student questionnaire with personal essay, and parent/guardian questionnaire.

STEP 2 Send Transcript Report

Download our Transcript Release Form, complete, and submit to your current school's Registrar. For students applying to 9th grade, only an 8th-grade transcript is required. Applicants for the 10th-12th grade should provide a complete transcript for all high school years completed.

STEP 3 Request Recommendations

We require three recommendations. Below are the required forms for official recommendations to Wasatch Academy:

  • Current English teacher
  • Current Mathematics teacher
  • Personal Recommendation from a current counselor, principal, coach, etc.

STEP 4 Schedule Interview & Campus Visit

Admissions Interview

A personal interview with an Admissions Officer is an essential component of Wasatch Academy's admissions application. During the interview, students will have the opportunity to share information about their current school, academic and extra-curricular interests, anything that helps us understand what they love to do, and their desire to attend boarding school. Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to meet with the Admissions Officer as well. Families should plan to spend about three hours on campus for the campus tour and interview. We request that prior to your interview, you read our Student Handbook thoroughly to become familiar with our policies and procedures.

Schedule a Visit

Visits are typically scheduled during the academic year on Monday through Friday. Although we encourage you to visit when school is in session, we are happy to accommodate families year-round.

While we would like to meet you in person, for international students or other applicants unable to make it to campus, please contact the Admissions Office to set up a phone or Skype interview. An application and current grades (if at all possible) should be on file before arranging a phone or Skype interview. Please, call the Admissions Office at 435-462-1400 or 800-634-4690 (toll-free) to set up an appointment.

Before You Arrive

To assist us in our planning and to make your visit more informative, we encourage (but do not require) students to submit any completed pieces of the application before coming to campus.
