We want parents to discover the real Godolphin. That is why we offer Snapshot Mornings at Godolphin.
Held on Friday mornings and limited to 10 families, this is your chance to truly experience the School. No formal presentations. No carefully-crafted exhibitions. No students coached to give model answers.
Instead, watch real classes and discover our fantastic facilities. Speak with staff and ask students questions. You can also meet the Head. Our Snapshots are designed to help you discover if Godolphin is right for you.
Located in the heart of Salisbury, we have educated young women for almost 300 years. We teach students from Prep to Sixth Form, providing a consistent and unified approach to education. Although historic in appearance, the school is welcoming and supportive.
Our mix of tradition and progress ensures students are prepared for life’s challenges, and are ready to leave their mark on the world. We deliver a holistic education, where self-worth is built on gaining academic knowledge, practical skills and critical thinking.
If you want a school that realises potential and nurtures individual talent, then Godolphin could be the perfect match
In the meantime, I encourage you to look through the pages of our website and please follow this link to our short films Meet the Head, Discover Godolphin and to our School Film which will give you a feel of life at Godolphin.
If you’re considering choosing Godolphin Prep for your daughter’s education we advise you request a prospectus, follow up with a school visit and then organise a visit with your daughter. During her visit day, depending on her age, we will assess her reading, spelling, writing and mathematics through testing, observation and discussion.
Our Director of Admissions, Corinna Florence, will also ask for a written report from your daughter's current school for students entering Year 1 or above.
Registration
Parents that are considering Godolphin Prep must complete a Registration Form and return it to our Director of Admissions, with a copy of their daughter’s birth certificate. A registration fee of £50 is payable when registering and this will then mean your daughter is on our list for potential entry, but by no means commits you to the School. An offer of a place is dependent upon the outcome of her visit to the School.
Offer of a Place
Once an offer of a place has been made, we ask parents to complete and return an acceptance form with a non-refundable acceptance fee of £250 for UK and EU nationals and one term’s boarding fees for non-EU nationals.
International Students
We ask that when possible, international students visit the school before placement. If this is not possible an electronic interview (Skype/Facetime) with the Head must be arranged.
Godolphin has a bespoke 11+ Assessment which your daughter will be invited to complete approximately 8 months prior to entry.
Every candidate will be invited to complete our bespoke 11+ Assessment around 8 months before their start date. We will write to ask for a Head’s reference before the Assessment and during the Assessment Day, each candidate will complete entrance papers in Maths and English, be interviewed by the Head or a member of the Senior Staff and will take part in team-building exercises.
We will write to parents after the Assessment with the results and an offer of a place, providing the candidate’s results fall within the School’s qualifying criteria.

Godolphin has a bespoke assessment which every candidate will be invited to complete approximately 12 months prior to entry.
Godolphin Sixth entry is based on an interview and written papers, usually in each of a candidate’s proposed subjects. We also ask their existing Head for a reference and, if taking (I)GCSE examinations, each candidate will be expected to gain a minimum of five subjects at grade B/5 or above with a minimum of A/7 grades in those subjects the candidate wishes to study in Godolphin Sixth.
All students already at Godolphin have already earned their place in Godolphin Sixth.
Our bespoke post-16 curriculum is tailored around the needs and interests of each student. The Fourth Year Godolphin Sixth Discovery Day provides an initial opportunity for the girls to explore their choices, and in the Fifth Year they can finalise their decision at the Godolphin Sixth Open Evening. Option choices are made in February when the girls have a one-to-one interview with a transition tutor whose job is to make sure they have explored all options and are making the right decisions. We don’t use option blocking when students are selecting their A-levels, but instead devise a new timetable each year to reflect the year group’s choices. This means that most students can study whatever combination of subjects they choose.
