Admission Application

Beginning with Fall 2025 applicants, North Cedar Academy will use the TADS +Educate system for admissions, enrollment, and our new Student Information System (SIS). Information entered through TADS is seamlessly transferred to the Educate system, which eliminates repetitive data entry for both families and NCA. While it is recommended that families use TADS for the application to minimize the amount of data input later in the process, it is not required—families may still apply through the SAO if they prefer.

We currently accept two online applications:

  1. Fall 2025 applicants and beyond: Apply using NCA's Online Application.
  2. Enrollment Management Association's Standard Application Online (SAO)

A PDF version of the admission application is also available here and below in downloads.

Transcripts/Report Cards

  • Grades 9-11: Send the last two years of grade reports/transcripts
  • Grade 12: We must review all three years to determine your ability to graduate from NCA at the end of one academic year. If the 11th grade year is not yet finished, please send what you currently have available (such as first semester grades or a midterm progress report).
  • We may ask you to complete a Credit Transfer Verification form if more information is needed.
  • All students should be prepared to send their final grades once available if they were still in progress at the time of acceptance.

Recommendation letters

  • Domestic students should submit two recommendation letters from core subject teachers of their choice. The teachers must have taught the student within the last academic year. In place of the recommendation letters, we will accept a one-page letter from the students introducing themselves and expressing why they wish to attend NCA, as well as a recent EMA Character Skills Snapshot report.
  • International students should submit two recommendation letters from core subject teachers. One must be from a recent English teacher or tutor if the student is from a country where English is not one of the primary languages. We will accept a recent Duolingo English, TOEFL, iTEP, or Cambridge English placement test score in place of the English recommendation letter. --The second letter can be from a teacher of their choice. We will accept a recent EMA Character Skills Snapshot report in place of the second letter.

Student Interview

All students, domestic and international, must complete the admission interview. This can be done in person, or via Zoom, Google Meet, or WhatsApp. Please use this link to schedule your interview using Calendly.

If you are unable to find a time that works best for you, please email us some alternative times that you are available and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Additional Items

  • International students must submit a copy of the photo page of their passport so that we can best prepare to issue their documents, including the I-20: Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status.
  • Students applying for financial aid must ask their parents to complete the Financial Profile//Aid form. Families should be prepared to provide proof of income and a bank checking/savings statement. The bank statement does not need to include transaction history, just the total available checking and savings amounts. The domestic and international versions of the supplemental form are available below in downloads.
