How to Apply

The Admission Process

Interested in Sugar Bowl Academy? Follow these steps:

Step 1: Complete a Student Inquiry Form.

The Sugar Bowl Academy Inquiry Form can be found to the right. Once completed, the Admissions Manager will reach out to you.

Step 2: Schedule a Campus Visit and Interview.

In-person visits are strongly encouraged. For those who are unable, an online video interview is required. Your visit will include a campus tour, classroom visits, on-snow and/or dryland training sessions and meetings with the Head of School, our admission team, and the appropriate head coach. To schedule a Campus Visit and Interview, you must first complete the Student Inquiry Form. You can find directions to our campus here.

Step 3: Complete the Sugar Bowl Academy Application.

Once you have visited and feel Sugar Bowl Academy is the right fit for you, complete the online Sugar Bowl Academy Application. You will be able to access it after filling out an Inquiry Form.

Step 4: Apply for Financial Aid

Important Admissions Deadlines- New Students Only

• If we receive your application by January 15th of current year, we'll notify you of our admission decision by January 31st of current year.
• If we receive your application by March 1st of current year, we'll notify you of our admission decision by March 15th of current year.
• The admissions team will continue to review applications after the March 1 deadline while spaces are still available
• Signed enrollment contracts and 10% tuition deposit are due April 1.

International Students

Each year, Sugar Bowl Academy welcomes student-athletes from different countries around the world. Skiers from Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore have recently added to our culture and community while establishing life-long friendships and becoming well-versed in the academic and athletic lifestyle in the United States. Upon graduation from Sugar Bowl Academy, most international student-athletes plan to attend U.S. colleges and universities.

Applying as an International Student

• International students complete the same application form and admissions process as U.S. applicants. However, you should also include a copy of your passport with photo and name page.
• Your school transcripts must be translated into English.
• Once you're accepted, you'll need to provide proof of cash funds for the upcoming year's tuition.
• After we receive the above information, we'll issue you an I-20 form, which you'll need to apply for an F-1 student visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your home country. You'll need both the I-20 form and F-1 visa in your hand (not in your luggage) to enter the country at a U.S. port of entry.
• Before applying for the F-1 visa, you must pay an I-901 fee of $350 at www.fmjfee.com.
