Saint John Paul II Academy Open House

Our campus is open to all potential students and their families. If you are entering the 9th grade next year or considering transferring to a new high school this is your opportunity to see first hand all that SJPII has to offer.

Guided tours will allow you and your family to interact with one of our students as they show you around our 30 acre campus.

Faculty from all departments will be on hand to discuss course offerings at the Academy.

Administrators will be on hand to greet you and share the exciting things that are going on at the Academy.

Coaches and athletes will be available from all 27 teams.

Clubs and Organizations will be on display with offerings for all interests.

Academic Highlights including

  • The AP and Dual Enrollment Program at the Academy
  • High School Credits Earned in Middle School
  • Core Course Requirements and Electives at the Academy
  • SAT and ACT Prep with the Curriculum at the Academy
  • College Counseling at the Academy. Our Guidance Counselors and Faculty will present on these topics and answer your questions.

Faith Community is what makes us stand apart. Our Campus Minister and Senior Class Religion Teacher will present who our students are and how we build young men and women mind, body and spirit.

Freshman Applicants

Applying For Grade 9 (Freshmen)

If you are currently in the 8th grade and are interested in applying for the next school year, please be sure to select the 9th Grade application. Here is a list of items you may want to collect prior to starting the online application process. The documents listed below can be directly uploaded into your application.

  • A copy of your Birth Certificate
  • A copy of your 7th & 8th grade report cards and standardized test scores, this can also be provided by your current school.
  • If applicable, submit any documentation regarding: LD, IEP, 504, Psycho-Educational testing, remediation, or special situations
  • Email address for your school Principal, which is necessary to complete the Recommendation Section of the application
  • Applicant Photograph
  • Credit Card information for submitting the $100.00 application/testing fee
  • *The Diocese of Palm Beach requires that, prior to attendance in school, each student present or have on file with the school a certificate of immunization for the prevention of those communicable diseases for which immunization is required by the Department of Health. A completed Florida Certificate of Immunization (Form DH 680) is required to document the administration of prescribed immunization doses. An exemption from immunization requirements is permissible only with a physician’s certification as to the need for either a temporary or permanent medical exemption. An exemption from immunization requirements is not permissible for religious, philosophical, personal, or other reasons.

High School Placement Test (HSPT)

1st and Official Test Date - December 7, 8:a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  • All freshman applicants are required to take the HSPT.
  • You must complete the Online Application and pay the Application/Testing Fee to be registered for the test.
  • You will receive an email confirmation.
  • Only students who test on the official test date will be eligible for scholarships.

Alternate Testing Dates

  • The first Alternate test date will be on Wednesday, December 11, at 8:00 am.
  • Students who test on an alternate date are not eligible for scholarships

Note: The same placement test is given at all Catholic high schools, you should take this test at your first-choice school.

Principal's Recommendation Forms and Transcripts

All documentation must be received by SJPII no later than January 17, to be considered for acceptance and be mailed a decision letter on February 3,. All other applicants will be considered on a rolling admissions basis until the class is full.

Admissions Policy

  • Satisfactory grades - minimum 2.5 GPA average and appropriate credits
  • Satisfactory behavior
  • Necessary academic requirements to enter appropriate grade and to satisfy graduation requirements

All Transfer Students are placed on a 90 day Probationary Period

Application Process

Transfer students are considered for admission to Saint John Paul II Academy before and up to two weeks into both the first and second semester. If extenuating circumstances exists we may consider a student beyond the time frame already outlined, however, it will be decided on a case by case basis.

Before you get started, here are a few tips about what additional information will be needed as well as a list of documents that can be uploaded directly into your online application:

  • Current Teacher and school Administrator email addresses (for the Administrator & Teacher Recommendation in the Referral Documents section of the online application)
  • Please be sure to request both Recommendation Forms. One should be completed by a core course teacher and one by an administrator at your current school. An administrator can be a Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean or Guidance Counselor..
  • Upload an official copy of your transcript and standardized test scores with your application or hand deliver in a sealed envelope.
  • Birth Certificate
  • Current McKay or Step-up for Students Letter, if applicable
  • Credit Card payment information

Decision Letters

Transfer applicants are considered on a rolling basis and letters are mailed when the Admissions Committee makes a decision.

Registration

Transfer students are considered for admission for both the first and second semesters. Transfer students have two weeks to register from the date on their decision letter.
