Choosing a high school is a huge step in every student’s educational career. We encourage students to explore the many opportunities at Lexington Catholic High School.

  • The first step in the admissions process is to schedule a tour of the school with our admissions team and set up a shadow day for the prospective student. On the shadow day, a current student will host the prospective student and guide them throughout their visit as they experience actual classes and meet students and teachers (more details below). Eighth-grade students enrolled at our partner schools will participate in a group visit day in the fall and are not required to do an additional shadow visit.
  • The next step is to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) and apply to Lexington Catholic. Once accepted, you may enroll online beginning in December. If you are a transfer student, instead of taking the HSPT, please submit your transcript and report card. Then, schedule a shadow visit and meeting with the Principal and Vice President of Admissions and Enrollment Services.

Here are some important details about the shadow experience you should know:

  • Students are welcome September through mid-December and January through mid- May. We do not schedule shadow visits during the semester review or final exams weeks.
  • The shadow day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends by 2:00 p.m. We like for shadow guests to experience a number of engaging classes, and be our guest for lunch.
  • When shadow guests arrive, they should report to the Admissions Office in the school Front Office.
  • Attire should include a collared shirt, dress slacks, shorts, skort, or skirt.
  • The Admissions Office will arrange your guide unless you request someone in particular. We make every effort possible to accommodate any special request (Please note: due to scheduling conflicts and to avoid too much interference with a student's academic efforts, not all requests can be guaranteed).
  • Student guides will be selected according to grade level and similar interests. All 7th and 8th-grade guests will be matched with either a freshman or sophomore.

Enrollment Process For Incoming Freshman and Transfer Students

Choosing a high school is a huge step in every student/s educational career. We encourage students to explore the many opportunities at Lexington Catholic High School (LCHS).

The first step in the admissions process is to schedule a tour of the school with our Admissions team and set up a shadow day for the prospective student. On the shadow day, a current student will host the prospective student and guide them throughout their visit as they experience actual classes and meet students and teachers. Eighth grade students enrolled at our partner schools will participate in a group visit day in the fall, and are not required to do an additional shadow visit.

The next step is to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). Once the school receives a student's HSPT scores and information from middle school teachers, a letter regarding admission will be mailed. Families of students who are accepted may enroll online beginning in mid January. If you are a transfer student, instead of taking the HSPT, please submit your transcript, report card, and schedule a shadow visit and/or meeting with the principal and Vice President of Admissions and Enrollment Services.

CMG Connect

Within schools, parents and volunteers are recognized as a vibrant and necessary support to the school community bringing gifts and talents to achieve its fullest potential.

The Diocese of Lexington requires every school and parish to keep records on any parent volunteer coming into the school or parish. Volunteers will be required to register for the CMG Connect program which will provide the “Safe Haven-It’s Up to You” Safe Environment training video, Pastoral and Technology Codes of Conduct concluding with a background check.

LCHS is required to have all parent volunteers who come onto the school campus complete this training. Please keep in mind that all extracurricular activities have parent volunteer components, especially athletics and the fine arts which require parent involvement in order for the student to participate. If you completed CMG Connect or VIRTUS at a Catholic partner school or parish, you will not have to repeat this training while your student is at Lexington Catholic.
