Admission to Kirov Academy is by audition only for both the Ballet and Music Departments. Admission to the Academic Only Program for local DC residents is by interview and standardized test evaluation. All artistic programs are leading to a professional career.

Commuter Academic Only Program Admission Process

Kirov Academy of Washington DC partners with Serving Our Children (SOC), initiated by the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program. SOC Scholarship Award Recipients are invited to apply to Kirov Academy for the DC Resident Academic Only Program. More information about academics at Kirov Academy is on the Programs page.

To apply, complete and submit the form on the website to indicate your interest in applying for the program.

• Each applicant will be contacted by the Academic Department to set up a tour of the Academy and an interview with the Academic Director.
• Bring an official sealed transcript of your child’s current grades, or, if not possible, at least two years of report cards for evaluation by the Academic Department.
• Schedule a time to take the IOWA Basic Skills test at the Academy.

Upon approval of the application, submit the SOC enrollment form. An invitation will be sent to enroll in the SIS (School Information System), Gradelink.
