Choosing a school is undoubtedly one of the most significant decisions that you as a parent will make.

How to Apply

If you haven't done so already, come and see us. Visits during the school day are preferable so you can see the School in action and soak up the warm and genuine atmosphere.

Students joining the school are strongly encouraged to spend a taster day or two with their prospective classmates, allowing them to start the process of making friends right from the get-go.

We are committed to retaining small class sizes and will cap year groups in order to maintain this. For the youngest children joining us at Barlborough Nursery, an informal and flexible settling-in period is offered so they take their first steps at their own pace

For students looking to join Mount St Mary’s College at 11 years or above, our entrance assessment is held at the end of November prior to students joining the following September. To register for the entrance assessment please contact the admissions team at admissions@msmcollege.com.

Registration
To progress an application we encourage you to complete a registration form (available below) as soon as possible and return it to our admissions office.

We are committed to retaining small class sizes and will cap year groups in order to maintain this. Early registration is recommended to secure your place for the next academic year.

Transport
Leave the school run to our team of professional drivers who operate a fleet of 10 private minibuses throughout term time.

Our Transport team safely and conveniently collect and return children from Chesterfield, Doncaster, Mansfield, Matlock, Sheffield and Worksop. This popular service is available to pupils at Mount St Mary’s College and Barlborough Hall School.

Scholarships and Bursaries

Mount St Mary's College and Barlborough Hall School are proudly and resolutely academically inclusive. Notwithstanding this we reward outstanding talent by offering a limited number of scholarships every year.

Scholarships are offered for demonstrable excellence in academia, music or sport at the point of entry into Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12. A formal process of application, assessment and award takes place annually. Full details, including key dates, can be obtained from the admissions team.

Means tested bursaries are also available, and can be offered in conjunction with scholarships to qualifying candidates. For families with younger children looking to join Barlborough Hall School, a limited number of bursaries may be available.
