To apply to join Concord College students should submit the relevant application form which will automatically route to our Admissions Secretary. Students can apply for entry to Concord at Form 3 (Year 9), Form 4 (Year 10) or to the Sixth Form (Year 12). Both boarding and day students are welcome to apply at any of these points (please refer to the Applying to Concord section of the website).

Students should also send copies of their latest school reports (covering the previous two years) to the College and include any other information that might be helpful (copies of certificates or references for instance). Students should also send a copy of their passport. These can be emailed as attachments to Admissions@concordcollege.org.uk or sent to the College by fax to: (44) 1694 731389.

If you are considering entry to Concord for your child you should complete the relevant application form and send this with the registration fee and other supporting documents to the college. Your child will then be required to sit online entry tests or tests at the college and attend an interview. All information is then reviewed by the Principal or Head of Lower School before a decision is made whether to offer a place.

We would recommend that if at all practical you visit the college to have a tour and meet the Principal or the Head of Lower School. Visits can be arranged at your convenience and taster days can be organised for prospective students

Applying to Concord

Many students join Concord in the Lower School at Form 3 (13 years of age) or Form 4 (14 years of age), and other students join Concord in the Sixth Form (at ages that vary from 16 to 17) to study for their A Levels before entering a UK university.

The College welcomes applications year-round. Applications received before the September in the year before admission (i.e. applications for entry in either September or January which are submitted before September) are considered first. Applications received after this time will be considered in turn when complete. Concord begins to offer places once the first applications have been processed, usually in November, and so early application is advised where possible.

All applications for Chinese national students currently studying in mainland China should be submitted to our representative office in Shanghai for processing. Any applications submitted from mainland China directly to the college will automatically be forwarded to our representative office.

To apply for a Boarding place:

  • Prior to submitting an application, you should review the entry criteria for the relevant year group to confirm that the student meets all of the requirements.
  • Complete the A Level, GCSE or Form 3 (Year 9) online Application Form (see Admissions menu). This will automatically route to our Admissions Secretary once submitted. A £300 non-refundable registration fee is payable for all applications for a boarding place. Please contact the Admissions Secretary for methods of payment.
  • Once you have submitted the online application form, please send the student’s latest school reports (over the previous two years) to the College. You should also include any other information that might be helpful (copies of certificates or references for instance) and a copy of the student’s passport.
  • The Admissions Secretary will acknowledge receipt of the application and will advise you of the next stage of the process.
  • Students applying for entry to Concord College will be invited to sit the college entry tests within 12 months of the start date of the academic year the student wishes to enter. Please contact the Admissions Secretary for more information regarding the tests.
  • Your Application will be held and assessed alongside all other applications for the same entry date in line with the following time scales:
    • Decisions for September entry will begin to be made during November, 10 months prior to the entry date. i.e. review of applications for entry in September received prior to September will be expected to take place in November .
    • Decisions for January entry will also be made during November, 14 months prior to the entry date. i.e. applications for entry in January will be reviewed in November .
  • Prior to a decision being made, some students may be invited to sit further entry tests. Details will be sent out via email as soon as possible during the process. Interviews may also be requested as follows:
    • At the College for those students able to visit in person
    • At an overseas venue to meet a member of Concord’s staff during one of the many scheduled visits abroad
    • Via Microsoft Teams where the above two options are not possible
  • All the information is then reviewed by the Principal before a decision is taken whether to offer a place.

To apply for a Day Student place at the College, please contact the Admissions Secretary.
