Discontinuation of Enrolment
Richmond International School is an inclusive school. A positive, collaborative working relationship between the school and a student’s parents/ guardians is essential to the fulfillment of the School’s Mission. As such, the school does not tolerate behavior that is detrimental to the safety, integrity, or dignity of any individual or group. The school reserves the right to discontinue enrolment if it concludes that the actions of a student/parent/guardian make such a relationship impossible or otherwise seriously interfere with the RIS’s accomplishment of its educational purpose.
Withdrawal
Withdrawal requires written notice to be delivered to the Admissions Department (e-mail or hard copy), any other communication will not constitute withdrawal. A withdrawal notice will not be effective until received and acknowledged by the Admissions Department.
Students will not receive final progress reports until such time as the school has ascertained that their bills have been paid and all school-owned material has been returned.
Transferring to Another School
RIS understands the transient nature of the school community. With reasonable notice, the administration will provide appropriate documentation to support enrolment to another school. Students transferring out of RIS, who have been in attendance for up to one full academic year and are in good standing, will receive copies of all report cards, standardised tests, and an official school letter confirming dates of enrolment. Students transferring out of RIS who have been in attendance for more than one full academic year and are in good standing, will receive the same documentation and may be entitled to specific recommendation materials. For students meeting the enrolment length requirements, all requests for recommendation materials and/or completion of such forms must be requested through the respective administrative office. RIS will not accept requests to complete lengthy application materials on behalf of the receiving school. In all cases, RIS reserves the right to determine the appropriate level of recommendation materials that will be provided to departing students.
