The Application Process
Step-by-step from expressing interest to starting classes
Initial Consultation
Initial consultation in person, or email
Language support: Chinese, English, Korean, Russian, Japanese
Submit Application (Email or in Person)
Submit completed application (form available at admissions office or download here) along with:
- copy of student’s passport
- copy of student’s birth certificate
- copy of student’s legal guardian’s (father or mother) passport (with signature)
- Copy of student’s school transcript (with English or Chinese translations)
- Copy of Elementary or Middle school graduation certificate (if applicable)
- 2 passport sized photos
- $100 USD non-refundable application fee
Application Evaluation
Students from NON-English-speaking countries and academic backgrounds
Write an entrance examination:
- English, Chinese and Math will be tested
- Comprehensive English for Foreign Nationals School application
Students from English-speaking countries and academic backgrounds
Details of academic history evaluated by BC Program Principal, or designate. Please provide:
- Chinese and Math will be tested
- Comprehensive English for Foreign Nationals School application
Admission
For Foreign Nationals Schools (BC system)
If student is admissible, based on evaluations and/or testing:
- Student is admitted to CSL intensive year course or appropriate grade level
- Full Payment of tuition fees required for GW202 form to apply study Visa in China
- Student acceptance letter provided
For Elementary and Middle Schools (Chinese system)
If student is admissible, based on evaluations and/or testing and Chinese assessment:
- Student is admitted to CSL intensive year course or appropriate grade level
- Full Payment of tuition fees required for GW202 form to apply study Visa in China
- Student acceptance letter provided
For High Schools (BC system)
If student is admissible, based on academic evaluation and ESL assessment:
Student is admitted to either:
- Foundations Program
- Bridging Program
Full Academic Grade 10 Program*
- Full Payment of tuition fees required for GW202 form to apply study Visa in China
- Student acceptance letter provided
*Admission to BC Full Grade 10 requires BC Principal assessment/approval
Arrival and School Registration
Student arrive at school with:
- Acceptance letter
- Birth certificate Notarization Document Authenticated by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate
- Student Guardian (if not stay with parent in China) Notarization Document Authenticated by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate
- Foreigner Medical Examination at local Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau (details provided at international student services center)
- Student parent residency permit in China (if applicable)
- Evidence of tuition paid
