Enrolment Process

Enrolment week – Monday 31 July to Thursday 3 Aug and Saturday 5 August (Times tbc)

  • Step 1: Complete the Online Enrolment Form
  • Step 2: Complete the Student Profile Form
  • Step 3: Please contact the school office to arrange an interview with the Dean of the year level your student wishes to attend at.

At the Enrolment Interview, we complete the enrolment by signing the Partnership Agreement between Rutherford College, the students, and their whanau. Students will also select their option subjects and there will be time to discuss any other information you think we need to know about your child and answer any questions you have.

In Zone students – Year 9

Please complete Steps 1, 2 and 3 of the Enrolment Process.

You will need to bring the following documents to your enrolment interview – the student’s birth certificate, proof of address, their last report, and their immunisation record (if available).

In Zone students – Year 10-13

Please complete Steps 1 and 2 of the Enrolment Process.

You will need to bring the following documents to your enrolment interview – the student’s birth certificate, proof of address, their last report, and their immunisation record (if available).

Applicants seeking second or third priority status will be required to give proof of a sibling relationship.

Families will be notified once the ballot is drawn and will have 14 days to confirm their place. If applicants deny their place or do not reply to the school to confirm their place within 14 days, applicants will be removed from the acceptance list and the place will be offered to the next applicant on the ballot.

Year 9

To Enrol at Rutherford College

  • Download, complete and sign the Application for Enrolment Form.
  • Read the ‘Fee Structure and Refunds Policies’.
  • Read the ‘Important Pre-departure Information’ sheets.
  • Photocopy the front page of the student’s Passport.
  • Provide a certified copy (in English) of the student’s latest school report and a testimonial or character reference.
  • Complete and sign the ‘Student Homestay Application’ form – unless the student’s parents request a designated caregiver.
  • If a designated caregiver is requested, complete and sign the ‘Designated Caregiver’ form.

Successful Application

  • When the student is selected, Rutherford College will send back an Offer of Place and Invoice.
  • When Rutherford College receives payment, a Confirmation Receipt and an Updated Offer of Place will be sent back.
  • On receiving the Confirmation Receipt and Updated Offer of Place, long-term applicants can apply for a Student Visa from Immigration New Zealand. Short-term students obtain a Three-Month Visitor Visa on arrival in New Zealand.
