4 Easy Steps to Enrolling

  • Collect Enrolment Pack from Reception or enrol online.
  • Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted for an interview or further information.
  • Attend the interview. The student and at least one parent or caregiver must attend the enrolment interview.
  • The application will be processed and is considered to be complete once all pre-enrolment procedures have been completed.

Enrolment Scheme

Kelston Girls’ College Board of Trustees has implemented an Enrolment Scheme/ School Zone as directed by the Ministry of Education, effective Term 1.

In Zone Enrolment

All students living within our home zone are entitled to enrol if they are eligible to attend.

Please Note: In-zone applications must be submitted by 25 August to help us determine the final out-of-zone places available.

Step 1: Complete the Online Enrolment Form

Online enrolment for all in-zone students wishing to start opens on Friday 1 July

Step 2: Attend Enrolment Interview

In-zone enrolment interviews will be held

  • Monday 12 - 5pm
  • Tuesday 9am - 1pm
  • Wednesday 10am - 2pm

Out of zone Enrolment

Kelston Girls’ College is able to offer placements to a certain number of students (to be determined by the BoT) who live outside of our home zone.

Where the number of students exceeds the places available, a ballot will be held, applications will be processed in the following order of priority:

Priority 1: Applicants for enrolment in special programmes:

Kelston Girls College offers Te Wheke Bilingual Pathways:

  • Māori
  • Samoan
  • Tongan
  • Priority 2: Applicants who are siblings of current students
  • Priority 3: Applicants who are siblings of former students
  • Priority 4: Applicants who are children of former students
  • Priority 5: Applicants who are children of Board employees or Board members
  • Priority 6: All other applicants

How to Apply

Kelston Girls’ College has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Ministry of Education. Copies of the code are available on request from this institution or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website at http://www.minedu.govt.nz

Thank you for your interest concerning the enrolment of an International Student at Kelston Girls’ College. The information contained in the attached document includes:

How to apply:

  • Complete the enrolment form and return it to us with the student’s most recent school report. This report must be translated into English and be certified as an authentic translation/copy.
  • Contact New Zealand Immigration for the necessary forms to obtain a Student Visa. The New Zealand Immigration website is: www.immigration.govt.nz. This will explain what you need to do to obtain a student visa.
  • Once Kelston Girls’ College has had the opportunity to view the application, we will respond with an Offer of Place Form and an invoice for the costs involved.
