Admission Policy

Non-Selective Admission Policy
The SABIS® Educational System™ is highly academically-oriented without being highly selective. The criterion for acceptance in a class is academic attainment, not age. Although age acts as a limiting factor, it is possible to find a three-year age range in the same class. In general, any student willing to learn is accepted.

Placement Overview
There are no academic requirements for acceptance into Kindergarten (3 to 5 years of age). Prospective students at these levels are interviewed; they must be toilet-trained and able to speak and follow simple instructions.

All other prospective students take diagnostic tests in the core subjects. These tests help to determine if the students have attained the minimum expected standard for each subject. The school then makes final placement decisions but can resort to the various strategies at its disposal to help bring a student to the required level. For example, there is the option of attending summer school or perhaps extra classes in a subject. Special academic support is taken very seriously by the school.

Students (KG 2 – Gr.10) regarded as suitable candidates will take diagnostic tests in English and mathematics.

For Grades 11 and above the diagnostic test will depend on the subjects the student wants to take.

Application and Required Documents

Documents for Admission

A. KG1

Along with the completed application form, the following documents are mandatory before a child is interviewed:

• Two recent passport-size photographs
• A copy of the child’s passport or Family Registration Certificate (FRC) in English or a computerized Nadra birth certificate
• A copy of vaccination record of the child since birth
• A copy of CNIC of both parents / guardians

B. Grades KG 2 – Grade 12

Along with the completed application form, the following documents are required before the child is administered a diagnostic test in English and mathematics:

• Two recent passport-size photographs
• A copy of the child’s passport or Family Registration Certificate (FRC) in English or a computerized Nadra birth certificate
• A copy of vaccination record of the child since birth
• A copy of CNIC of both parents / guardians
• A copy of the child’s last academic report and a transcript stamped by the previous school
• A transfer certificate (if applicant is transferring from abroad)
• Student’s course selection from Grade 10 onwards (for students applying for Grade 10 and above)
• A transcript from an accredited* school for the previous 3 years (for students applying for admission to Grades 10 /11 in high school)

*recognized as high school by an internationally accredited body as per IBCC requirements

Admission Decisions

Admission decisions are made after careful evaluation of the candidates. Results of diagnostic testing and previous school records are considered on a case-by-case basis. Additional criteria for admission include motivation, social and emotional development, willingness to work hard, and the ability of ISC-Lahore to accommodate the needs of the candidate.

Please note that, in order to complete the registration, the above mentioned documents should be presented upon initiation of the admission process in support of the application. A final admission decision cannot be made without this information.

Once accepted and the required fees paid, a place for the student is reserved.
