Welcome to AES Admissions

Every move a family makes leads to stretching, growth, and change. It’s stressful yet exciting and offers each family member a new learning experience.

We believe that our international school will set your child up for success, providing a balanced education defined by a joyful pursuit of excellence in academics, athletics, arts, and service. We seek to guide each student to become a lifelong learner; to explore, to create, to innovate, and to serve. Further, we seek to inspire responsibility and a sense of compassionate global citizenship.

More than anything, we want your child to find AES to be a place where they feel they belong and get to experience great learning every day.

As the Director of Admissions, I feel privileged to meet you and so many other wonderful international families from all over the world. Please contact me at [email protected] for a one-on-one conversation about the American Embassy School and then to hopefully initiate your personalized admissions journey into our AES Family.

We can't wait to get to know each other. Our team is happy to serve you in your transition across New Delhi or across the world.

Apply Now

We are excited about your interest in the American Embassy School, New Delhi—An International Community.

We recognize that every transition is unique for each child. Once you have made the decision to apply, we want to make the process go as smoothly as possible. To start the application, please review the three-step process below. Please note that we have a rolling admissions and enrollment policy. We’ll support you from beginning to end.

Applying in Three Easy Steps

Each step has a Prep-List underneath that shows you which documents or information you will need. If you gather the Prep-List items in advance, the online submission should be a snap.

Complete the online application form using the ‘Apply Now’ button.

When you enter the online application, please be ready to:

  • Attach a scanned passport-style color picture for each applicant. Approximately 2 x 2 inches with a light background. This picture will be used for school ID cards upon enrollment.
  • Complete the online application form (Student and Parent information). It’s important to answer ALL of the questions on the form.
  • Choose your payment option and click “SUBMIT."

Submit the non-refundable fee of USD 800 per application when prompted online.

When you are prompted to pay the fee you will have the following options:

  • Credit card—pay online immediately.
  • Bank transfer—you will be provided with the required details to pay via wire transfer.
  • Check—you will be provided with the information to pay via check.

Good to know:

  • Each application fee is good for two years of consideration.
  • The payment will secure an applicant within the Admissions priority category, based on the Admissions requirements.
  • We review applications on a first-come, first-served basis within each priority category.

Have the following information and documents handy to upload:

  • Scanned copy of official school report cards (the past two years’ reports and most recent semester report when available)
  • Confidential teacher recommendations. Fill out your child's teachers' names and official school email addresses (private email addresses are not acceptable). The online form will be sent directly to the teacher to request their confidential recommendation.
  • *For middle and high school applicants: we need three confidential recommendations. Please be ready with the names and emails for the applicant's current or most recent:
    • Counselor or principal
    • English teacher
    • Math teacher
  • Scanned photocopies of the information and photo pages of the passports of parents/guardians and applicants.
  • For Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5 applicants: have a scanned one-page drawing or writing piece done recently by your child.
  • For middle school and high school applicants: we want to include their voices! Download the Student Questionnaire and ask your child to complete the form, scan it, and submit it online.
  • Accommodation plans and/or educational evaluations (if applicable). Please note that applications for students with learning support needs or other unique circumstances may take longer to review

    • The student should have come from an American or international system of education from outside of Delhi/NCR and intends to return to an American or international system of education.
    • The student is at a critical stage of education and studying at AES is important for the student’s success.

Nationality Guidelines

In order to preserve the cultural diversity of our student population, AES seeks to maintain—at every grade level—the average percentage of any nationality other than from the US to be no higher than 20%. Given the mobility of our population and in an effort to enroll siblings, this average is a target and not a fixed cap. While our language of instruction is English, AES also makes available a sophisticated English language acquisition program for students needing that additional support.

Guidelines for English as an Additional Language Admissions

The English as an Additional Language (EAL) program at AES is designed to support students who are acquiring English proficiency. AES has admissions guidelines for levels of academic English language proficiency; this may be assessed online during the application process. Students who require EAL services will be charged according to the published fee schedule.

Learning Support

AES is committed to seeing how we can serve your child with integrity and in the best possible learning environment. If your child currently receives or may require additional support, please contact our admissions team before applying.

  • AES Belonging Statment

The American Embassy School is a community of diverse learners. We celebrate the strength of our diversity and are committed to nurturing a culture of belonging. All members of our community actively support every learner’s academic, social, and emotional growth.

  • Extend Services Program

At AES, we believe that our entire community benefits from the inclusion of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each student in the Extended Services Program (ESP) will have an educational plan that is designed to identify their strengths and to meet their individualized academic, social, and life-skill goals. This plan will be developed by an integrated team including members of the School Administration, the Special Education Teacher, Educational Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Pathologist, and School Counselor.

The Extended Services Program classroom is a purpose-built space that helps facilitate individualized academic instruction and the teaching of functional, social, and life skills.
