Every move a family makes leads to stretching, growth, and change. It’s stressful yet exciting and offers each family member a new learning experience.
We believe that our international school will set your child up for success, providing a balanced education defined by a joyful pursuit of excellence in academics, athletics, arts, and service. We seek to guide each student to become a lifelong learner; to explore, to create, to innovate, and to serve. Further, we seek to inspire responsibility and a sense of compassionate global citizenship.
More than anything, we want your child to find AES to be a place where they feel they belong and get to experience great learning every day.
As the Director of Admissions, I feel privileged to meet you and so many other wonderful international families from all over the world. Please contact me at [email protected] for a one-on-one conversation about the American Embassy School and then to hopefully initiate your personalized admissions journey into our AES Family.

General Entry Requirements
Nationality Guidelines
In order to preserve the cultural diversity of our student population, AES seeks to maintain—at every grade level—the average percentage of any nationality other than from the US to be no higher than 20%. Given the mobility of our population and in an effort to enroll siblings, this average is a target and not a fixed cap. While our language of instruction is English, AES also makes available a sophisticated English language acquisition program for students needing that additional support.
Guidelines for English as an Additional Language Admissions
The English as an Additional Language (EAL) program at AES is designed to support students who are acquiring English proficiency. AES has admissions guidelines for levels of academic English language proficiency; this may be assessed online during the application process. Students who require EAL services will be charged according to the published fee schedule.
Learning Support
AES is committed to seeing how we can serve your child with integrity and in the best possible learning environment. If your child currently receives or may require additional support, please contact our admissions team before applying.
The American Embassy School is a community of diverse learners. We celebrate the strength of our diversity and are committed to nurturing a culture of belonging. All members of our community actively support every learner’s academic, social, and emotional growth.
At AES, we believe that our entire community benefits from the inclusion of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each student in the Extended Services Program (ESP) will have an educational plan that is designed to identify their strengths and to meet their individualized academic, social, and life-skill goals. This plan will be developed by an integrated team including members of the School Administration, the Special Education Teacher, Educational Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Pathologist, and School Counselor.
The Extended Services Program classroom is a purpose-built space that helps facilitate individualized academic instruction and the teaching of functional, social, and life skills.
