Applications for current and future school years are received on a rolling basis and subject to space availability. Please contact the Admissions Department if you are interested in an earlier entry
Step 1: Complete the Online Application
Submit the Online Application and upload the required Application Checklist items, including the payment confirmation of the application fee. You will then receive an automatically generated confirmation email.
Step 2: Placement Assessment & Interviews
Depending on the applied year level, the application process may include student/family interviews, written placement tests, external assessment, and/or online evaluations. The specific requirements for each applying family will be communicated at the onset of the application review.
Year level and programme placement of students at YCIS Beijing is based on several factors, including academic performance, English language proficiency, skills development, prior years of schooling, social development, date of birth, gender, cultural background and learning needs.
The Placement Assessments may also include;
Admissions Department will contact you to arrange necessary placement testing and/or meetings/interviews.
Following the assessment, the school will make the final decision regarding the appropriate year level and programme placement for each child.
Step 3: Application Review and Decision Notification
All applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Once a decision has been reached applicants will receive one of the following decision letters via email;
Acceptance
Successful applicants will receive an Offer of Placement specifying year level and programme placement. To secure the place, parents must sign and return the Offer letter and pay the RMB 20,000 yuan deposit by the due date stated on the invoice.
Waiting Pool
Waiting Pools are created once a Year Level's capacity has been reached. Applicants receiving a waiting pool decision will be contacted if/when a space becomes available. Waiting pool decisions are valid only for the school year of application and will not be carried over to future school years.
Unsuccessful Application
Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email, and the application will be closed. Applicants are welcome to reapply for a future school year.

Step 4: Fees Payment
To confirm the offer, payment of the Placement Deposit and Tuition Fees must be made by the specified due date on the invoice.
Step 5: Starting School
Before starting school, parents will complete the preparation steps provided by Admissions, which include signing the Offer of Placement confirming school uniform collection, lunch, and bus arrangements (if applicable), and preparing the items needed for your child's very first day of school.
