Application process & criteria

We’re delighted that you’re considering the LFS for your child’s education. From Monday, November 4, Shanghai French School accepts applications for back-to-school 2025-2026. There is no application deadline but we recommend you apply early to secure your place. Applications to join LFS during the current school year are received all year though places are subject to availability.

On which campus are registrations open?

• Registrations are open on both campuses in Qingpu and Yangpu from TPS (Pre-Kindergarten Class) to Grade 5.
• They are only open on Yangpu campus from Grade 6 to Grade 11.
• They are open on Qingpu campus for Grade 12.
• Important: If we accept registrations throughout the year, we invite you to register as early as possible to ensure the campus and stream of your choice.

Applications for non-French speakers?

From the Toute Petite Section of Kindergarten (Pre-Kindergarten) on, we welcome non-French speakers with a dedicated support and a specific program to learn French and integrate better into the French curriculum.
Please note that the number of seats for non-French speakers remains limited. It is important to submit a complete application file as soon as possible.
