Application Steps

Thank you for your interest in SEK Budapest International School! Follow these steps to begin the application process:

Schedule an Appointment

Contact Ms. Gréta Kis, our Admission Manager at greta.kis@iesmail.com to arrange an appointment, learn about our curriculum, and understand our teaching approach. Alternatively, you can complete the contact form on our website.

Admission Interview and Testing

• Preschool and Grades 1-4: Interview with the School Psychologist.
• Grades 5-12: Interview with the Admission Manager and entrance tests in English, Math, and Hungarian (for Hungarian speakers only).

Submission of Required Documents

After successful test results, please submit the following documents:

• Birth certificate (with an official English or Hungarian translation)
• School report or official translation into English or Hungarian
• Leaving certificate from the previous school
• Reference letter from the previous school
• Medical records, Social Security Number, and immunisation records
• One passport-sized identity photograph
• Residence permit (for non-Hungarian students)
• Proof of guardianship (if applicable, e.g., for divorced parents)
• Special needs certificate (if applicable)

Trial Period

Once admission is confirmed, and a place is offered, the student will be invited to attend a two-day trial period in their prospective class at the school.
