Early Childhood (KG1-KG2)
Once the application is submitted, the student will be called to take an entrance assessment. This requires a fee of 200 AED and the Emirates ID card. The assessment varies by the following:
Students are observed in a play environment to demonstrate developmental skills appropriate for school. Observations and informal assessments seek information on language, cognitive, social, physical and emotional development. The assessment observation takes place in English; however, a student’s native language will not deter acceptance to DAAS.
Grades 1 to 12
All other grades participate in a computerized assessment which covers Reading, Language, Mathematics and Arabic (for GCC passport holders).
The Registrar’s Office will contact families to schedule a date and time once the fee has been received.
The Academic Leadership Team reserves the right to interview the applicant if more information is needed or to follow up with academic history. This can take place with the student or parents. The purpose of the interview is to better inform the school of the best learning environment for each individual scholar.
The Registrar’s Office will formally communicate with the parents of the school’s decision in regards to admission. Should the student be accepted, the following documents need to be submitted to begin the registration process:
Once all documents are submitted and accepted, the child will formally be enrolled in DAAS. All parents are required to sign the KHDA Parent Contract for DAAS. Further information will be provided by the Registrar’s Office.
