How to Apply at JESS
Please Note
- We do not accept any applications into Year 11 or Year 13 as they are part of a two-year exam programme.
- All Year Groups (except Years 10 – 13) are OPEN to Corporate Debenture and Emirati Applications only.
- FS1 and Year 7 are OPEN to Sibling Applications.
- We ONLY accept FS1 and Year 7 for Personal Applications two years in advance of the enrolment year.
- FS1 and Year 7 are now CLOSED.
- For all other year groups, you have to apply IF the year group is OPEN as indicated above.
Personal Debenture Applications
We will only reopen year groups to Personal Debenture applications if our waiting lists fall below a certain level. If we can reopen year groups to Personal Debenture applications, we will update the information above.
Please check back here at the beginning of each month and if you see the year group you require listed as open, you will be able to apply to join our waiting list.
Entry Criteria
Requirements for children applying to JESS
- Should be fluent in English at an age-appropriate level so that s/he can access the curriculum.
- JESS welcomes students of determination and ensures that students are not refused admission based only on their experience of SEND. Our specialist Inclusion team ensures each child fulfils their true potential. For further information, please see our Admissions Policy and our Provision for Students of Determination.
- If English is not the applicant’s first language; or that the applicant is multi-or bi-lingual, please refer to our English as an Additional Language Policy
- JESS follows the English National Curriculum year group structure with the school year commencing in September and ending in July. Progression between year groups happens in September. The entry cut off for year groups is 1st September as per UK National Curriculum standard practice. JESS strictly follows the KHDA regulations regarding admission of children. Parents are advised that this can present some difficulties for children entering the English National Curriculum from a different system.
