Haileybury Rendall School welcomes boarding students from Years 7 to 12 from across northern Australia.
Our students are from a diverse range of backgrounds, and we also boast a large population of students from remote communities.
Haileybury Rendall School Boarding is a unique coeducational environment and offers many wonderful opportunities to the students as they mix in a friendly, convivial and supportive manner.
Haileybury Rendall School is pleased to offer a world-class education and boarding experience to families who would prefer to see their children close to home in the Northern Territory.
With a dedicated team of experienced, professional and supportive staff, modern facilities, and a welcoming ‘family’ atmosphere, the Haileybury Rendall School Boarding experience ensures that all students are supported.
Within boarding we aim to maintain a family atmosphere and are building a culture that has high expectations of students and staff.
This is centred on establishing strong positive social relationships and developing an optimistic outlook on the opportunities that education provides to produce a community of happy, successful, young people who are achieving more than they thought possible.
The wellbeing and safety of boarders is our primary concern in a physical, social and cultural sense.
Such a culture comes from treating boarders as individuals, dealing with issues as if they involved members of one’s own family, and an ability to consider matters in perspective.
The boarding experience at Haileybury Rendall School enriches students with lifelong learning values of respect and responsibility, while also forging strong friendship bonds.
Boarding Life
The newly refurbished boarding facilities provide students with a modern and comfortable home away from home.

Wellbeing
Within boarding we aim to maintain a family atmosphere where every student matters every day.
Our mission is to develop high-achieving students who are connected globally, to each other and to the communities in which they live and which they serve.
Open, clear, and positive communication is encouraged to support all boarders at Haileybury Rendall School with guidelines for behaviour and house rules based mainly on mutual courtesy and respect, and the promotion of safety for all students.
The Head of Boarding oversees the boarding program and provides an important link between boarding and the Day School.
The Head of Boarding is assisted by an Assistant Head of Boarding—Pastoral Care and an Assistant Head of Boarding—Academic Achievement.
We also have several other staff who provide 24-hour care on a rostered basis and are supported by a team of residential tutors.
Communication is openly encouraged at all times between students, School staff and families.

Pastoral Care
Haileybury Rendall School Boarding is focused on building a culture of trust and respect via connectedness.
Pastoral care begins in the boarding community and extends throughout the whole school.
Student Services provides a medical clinic, psychology counselling services, restorative meetings and programs to support boarders during the school day.
The Head of Student Services works closely with boarding staff to develop and implement holistic wellbeing programs that are tailored to the needs of boarders.
We provide our boarders with the highest standards of Duty of Care to ensure they always feel safe, connected and supported. This creates a culture whereby boarders feel at a home.
We also recognise that young people learn best when they are healthy, happy and retain a strong connection with family and their cultural beliefs.
Our qualified and experienced boarding staff work in partnership with our students to develop mutual respect and trust.
