For many, these strong relationships start with dorm life. Together they study, unwind, gather for dorm-wide meetings, goof around at snacking sessions known around here as “munch outs,” get ready for sports practice and formal dinners, and share daily triumphs and challenges.
Prefects
Senior Prefects are the leaders, role models, and informal advisors in the dorms. Working closely with the faculty each year, they enforce dorm rules, check in with their prefectees every night, and mediate dorm issues. They also set the tone for Thacher’s warm and adventurous community.
Dorm Facility
At Thacher, faculty doors are always open. This is especially true for dorm heads and other dorm faculty, who live close by and are an active part of the dorm community. Whether they’re helping with a tough academic assignment, hosting a group dinner at their house, or just sitting down to chat, forging relationships between students and faculty is their top priority.
