The Boarding House is in the heart of the College, situated in the centre of the campus. Since the school’s inception in 1888, boarding has been an integral part of the College community.
Of the 39 founding students of PLC Sydney, 21 were boarders. This rich tradition of boarding continues today, with the house providing accommodation for up to 64 girls from a range of cultural backgrounds.
Girls in Year 7 to 12 from the country, overseas and local areas board with us. Year 12 boarders live in single rooms while all other girls reside in shared rooms.
The College’s location in Sydney’s inner west enables boarders to easily access the city.
PLC Sydney boarders benefit from close access to all of the College’s state-of-the-art facilities, with the extra support of other boarders and staff who make up the boarding family. The Boarding House is a safe and happy environment that provides students with challenges and opportunities to develop independent learning skills, resilience and broaden social awareness.

It is suggested that boarders hold a bank account for incidental expenses which can be accessed through a local ATM.
For Year 12, boarding places are offered on the understanding that the fee is an annual one and there is a commitment to pay the whole year’s fee. For all other years, to withdraw a student from the Boarding House, a school term’s notice in writing or one term’s fees in lieu are required.
