At Girls Grammar our boarding students are expertly cared for by experienced boarding staff, promoting clever, confident and connected young women. We celebrate our rural, remote and international families and the diversity and understanding of each other. That is the strength of our community. Our staff ensure a home away from home for our young women and form strong bonds valuing their safety and comfort above all else.

Boarding at Girls Grammar aims to build a harmonious and happy environment that promotes every girl's success. Our boarders develop lasting friendships during their time here and take memories with them that will last a lifetime. There are a great range of activities for the girls to get them out into the community and the outdoors with their boarding sisters.

Life at Girls Grammar is relaxed and easy for the girls. School is right outside the Boarding house door. The facilities are all in close proximity for the girls – classrooms and library for study, the gym, pool, ovals, health centre, laundry and dining room. The staff of our school and boarding house are just as accessible. They all go out of their way to support the girls in all that they need. Activities such as regular shopping, Park Runs, beach trips, cinema, swimming pool and markets are on offer each weekend. The girls are also transported to all of their sporting commitments and medical appointments. A number of our staff reside on site ensuring availability 24 hours a day. Travel arrangements are also catered for when students are returning home on weekends and holidays.

Busy students are successful students and Boarders have every opportunity in sport, cultural and community activities in each of the school terms. There is a wealth of opportunity available to every Boarder and we especially encourage new Boarding students to sign up for a team sport or cocurricular activity. Girls can engage in a wide range of cocurricular activities both on and off campus.

Not only will the physical activity help to increase fitness, concentration, mental health and sleep quality, it will also help your daughter to quickly forge new friendships and reduce homesickness.

Studies have shown that when students participate in cocurricular activities it enhances their academic success. Our boarding staff will support your daughters to find opportunities and balance the additional commitments with their studies, healthy eating habits and sleep patterns.

Our leave system is closely monitored and easy to use. Parents have the convenience of adding leave for their daughter using their phone or computer using our RGGS Boarding Program. For our Head of Boarding, supervision and duty of care is forefront when approving this leave. Trains are also booked each week for those requiring transport home.

A bus takes the girls shopping to Stockland each Saturday morning and there are a range of other activities including trips to the Beach on Sundays. The girls are invited to all the activities each week and they sign up if they wish to be involved. Many of the activities are compulsory for the Junior boarders to ensure they do get out and about.

The girls' leave is flexible and we welcome parents to visit and spend time with their daughters at all times outside of school hours. It is easy to add leave for your daughter and it can be done on your phone or computer.
