Boarding at ISB is all about community, where our boarders and experienced house staff come together to create a loving and inclusive home away from home. Our core values are centered on care, compassion, and trust. Boarding students are supported by a large number of supervisory staff to ensure that they have their needs met on a daily basis. Following the ISB approach, where excellence is ingrained in supporting every endeavor, we actively encourage students to reflect on their actions and achievements. Through familiarization with various aspects, students swiftly integrate these principles into their daily lives, fostering personal growth and a sense of responsibility.
At ISB Residence, we believe that education is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about nurturing character, fostering creativity, and inspiring a lifelong love for learning. Our dedicated team and staff are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.
We understand the trust placed in us to care for your child's academic, personal, and emotional growth. We take this responsibility seriously and are committed to ensuring the well-being and happiness of every student under our care. Our residential life program is designed to provide a supportive and inclusive community that encourages independence, collaboration, and personal development.
Open communication between the Residence and parents is essential for the success of our students. We encourage you to stay involved in your child's education and life at the school. We value your input and partnership as we work together to provide the best possible “home away from home” for your child.
To help new students get acclimated to our Residence community, we have organised an orientation program at the start of the academic year. This will provide you and your child with the opportunity to meet our Residence team and staff, become familiar with the campus, and connect with fellow students and parents.
We are looking forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and memorable experiences. As we embark on this journey together, please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
Once again, welcome to ISB Residence. Let's make this a remarkable year of achievement, discovery, and friendship.
ISB Residence offers a friendly structured environment. The Residence consists of two conjoined buildings; one for male and one for female boarders. The buildings are joined by a common room, allowing all boarders the opportunity to rest and relax together after a long day of classes and ECAs. Depending on the age of students, they will either board in a triple room (Year 7-9 students), a double room (Year 10-13 students) or in some cases a single room for seniors.
Each boarder is allocated a bed, cupboard space, desk, chair, rubbish bin, coat hangers, and lockable cabinet in their bedroom. Clothes and school uniformed will be laundered and ironed daily by our auxiliary staff. Bed lines and pillow covered will be washed regularly.
Our boarders are encouraged to personalise their room by tastefully decorating their space. They are always expected to make their own beds in the morning and keep their room tidy in order to maintain good hygiene and develop independent life skills.
The Residence, a 'home away from home' for ISB students from Year 7 to Year 13. Students can join The Residence as 5 day (Monday – Friday) or 7 day (Monday-Sunday) boarders. The Residence provides an environment where boarders are treated as individuals and receive a personalised educational experience. Our Residence Team is committed to providing students with a unique opportunity to live on the ISB campus in a multi-national community where everyone is encouraged tothe ideas, values, and histories that underline their uniqueness.
As the boarders are situated within the school campus, they have the convenience of being minutes away from their classrooms, creative spaces and sports facilities including the FINA standard swimming pool. Residence students make full use of the ISB facilities, whether it is during lessons, as part of their Extra Curricular activities (ECAs) or through special evening activities organised by our team of Residence staff.
Boarders follow the ISB school day from 7.15am until 2.10pm Monday to Thursday and 7.15am-11.45am on Friday. Every boarder attends ECAs from 2.15pm until supervised study begins. Supervised study is designated time where residence staff support students in completing subject work to ensure they reach their maximum potential in all subjects.
Our Residence team includes teachers, medical staff and support staff. They live on site to ensure 24 hour supervision and support the boarders with activities, academic progress and conversation skills.
Healthy Life, Healthy Mind
Students have access to a wide range of extracurricular activities, clubs and events as they develop confidence, collaboration and positive attitudes as well as improving mental and physical health.
Additional to the weekly ECAs, a variety of activities and outings are organised for boarders during weeknights, weekends and public holidays. These activities encourage boarders to develop social and team building skills as well as being courageous by trying new experiences.
Other activities include movies (in house and at the cinema), restaurant outings, shopping mall trips, bowling, ice skating, to name but a few.
Through community outreach projects, boarders develop a social and environmental awareness by participating in charity walks, tree planting, beach cleans and helping in local schools.
To support a boarder’s healthy lifestyle, a well-balanced diet with significant variety and options is provided by our very own ISB catering team.
The Residence is ‘home away from home’ for ISB boarders from all around the world. The Residence provides students with a stable, caring and supporting family-like environment, educating them to be responsible, productive and ethical citizens with strong values of respect towards other cultures and the environment.
The Residence delivers family, friendship and fun as well as supporting students’ academic progress and success. Students are supported in their personal growth by a close knit group of committed Residence staff.
ISB residential community empowers students to acquire productive and effective study habits and to participate in the wide range of opportunities available at ISB. This enables students to leave us as confident, independent, self-disciplined and well-rounded young adults, ready to take an active role in the world.
