Admission Timeline & Application Process
We accept applications on rolling admission for fall (August) and spring (January) enrollment. Students can enroll mid-semester as long as they meet admission requirements and we feel they are capable of completing any previous coursework if needed. Applications are still being accepted for the spring 2021 semester at this time.
Follow these steps to complete the application process:
Apply online
Create an account and start the application at any time. Our application portal will provide a checklist once the application has been submitted, this way you can keep track of your application progress. We also accept the Standard Application Online (SAO).

Pay application fee
$50 (non-refundable). Can be paid online; Application Fee at bottom of page, or by check made payable to “Maur Hill - Mount Academy” and mailed to the school: 1000 Green Street, Atchison KS 66002.
Letters of recommendations
Three letters of recommendation required; 2 teachers, 1 counselor/principal. Letters can be submitted by email or mailed directly to the school.
Transcripts
Submit transcripts from this current school year AND the previous two school years. If needed, we have a Transcript Release Form to give to your student’s current school.
Standardized exam (optional)
This is an optional part of the application. Please submit any standardized exam taken during middle school or high school for transfer students. Exams can include: SSAT, High School Placement Test, PSAT, SAT, ACT, or other state/school administered exam.
Student essay
All students seeking admission to MHMA must submit an essay answering the question; "Why do you want to attend Maur Hill - Mount Academy?" Please upload essay in application portal under "Application Document Upload" or email to the Admission Office. Length of essay should not exceed 250 words and must be typed.
Student & parent interview
all prospective boarding students and at least one parent must interview with the Director of Admission and Residence Director. This interview can be conducted on campus during a campus visit or virtually using Zoom or Skype. Please call 913-367-5482 or email the Admission Office to schedule your interview.
