Dorm Limits
Studentsare not generally permitted in the dorm of the opposite gender. If permitted, for any reason, staff supervision is required at all times.
Fire Safety
Anything that creates a flame is not permitted in the dorm rooms or to be used without permission. Notamperingwith fire protection equipment, such as: smoke alarms, fire alarms, fire escapes, and fire extinguishers.
Laundry Facilities
Laundry facilitiesare available in each dorm;there is no cost to use the machines. Laundry and ironing for Sabbath should be completed wellbeforesundown or vespers on Friday—whichever is earlier. We recommend that you put your name on all your clothing items.
Phones
Telephones are provided in the dorms for studentuse, with no chargefor long distance calls. Special accommodations will be made for international students. If a studentneedsto call a student of the opposite gender or use the phones in the administration building, he/shemust have permission from a staff member.Individual student telephone privileges may be restrictedif a student is not respectful with his/her telephone use.
Room Decor
Room decor shouldbe inspirational and uplifting, and is subject to the approval of the dean. Puncturing the walls, including with pushpins, is only permitted withpermission from the dean.
Room Deposit
Each student is responsible for the care and condition of their room. In order for the room deposit to be refunded upon vacating a room, the dean must check to make sure the room is in the same (or better) condition as when the student moved in.
Roommates
Most students are given a roommate, soyou should expect to have one.You may request a specific roommate, but the deans have the final word when it comes to the assignment of rooms and roommates. Sometimes these assignments need to change duringthe year.Please graciously accept a change if necessary.
