Residential Life
At Everest, international program students experience the best of American life in a safe, structured, fun-filled environment where they have an opportunity to speak English at school and in the dormitory.
Our facilities provide spaces for studying, sharing meals, and having fun with new friends. Beyond the school day, students have opportunities to participate in clinics, explore local attractions, and take once-in-a-lifetime trips.
First-Rate Facilities
Boys
- Boys live in an on-campus dormitory in Clarkston, Michigan.
- Set on our 90-acre wooded campus, there’s plenty of room for dining, studying, and relaxing. Amenities include: indoor heated pool, weight room, gaming/recreation room, common area, and private chapel.
- Boys sleep in a large dormitory divided into assigned sub-sections.
Girls
- Girls live off-campus, just a short bus ride away in Oxford, Michigan.
- Housed in a beautiful, early 20th-century summer mansion, girls share study spaces, workout and recreation rooms, a private chapel, dance studio, and enjoy time on the beautiful back porch overlooking the pond.
- Five uniquely-themed bedrooms sleep 5-8 girls each.
A Strong Start
Within the first weeks of school, all Everest middle school students travel to a nearby campground for two days — getting to know one another and building friendships. Team building activities, time of prayer, and a lot of fun help to break the ice and start the school year with strong friendships.
This experience is consistently a highlight of all our middle school students (day and boarding) and provides a wonderful way for everyone to come together in community.
Daily Life
- During the school week, students attend daily Mass and eat breakfast at school. Classes are taught in English and students participate in the full spectrum of student life.
- Every day, students have opportunities to participate in American sports teams and clinics, including American football. Students who try out and earn a place on an Everest team play with their American peers against other local schools. Other clinics include dance classes, skiing and snowboarding, or seasonal sports like tennis or basketball.
- Students also have opportunities to participate in fine arts and other clubs and activities.
- After school and clinics, students return home for showers, dinner, and study. A moderated evening activity and prayer ends the day before lights out.
- Weekends include scheduled outings, and school breaks include once-in-a lifetime trips.
- All students have a regular time to call home each week.
Weekend Outings
Each weekend, students have some downtime to relax and unwind and an opportunity to experience authentic American activities.
Chaperoned weekly outings will bring your child all over the state of Michigan to participate in many cultural traditions, cheer for local professional sports teams, and visit the area’s attractions. Highlights include apple picking at the cider mill, celebrating Halloween, and cutting down their own Christmas tree (often in the snow)!
