Job Summary
Minimum Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Horticultural Production/ Horticultural Science/ Plant Science/ Agricultural or related field
- At least 3 years teaching/ professional experience
- Evidence of publication in peer reviewed journals or conference proceedings
- A broad understanding of current developments within the horticulture/ landscaping sectors

- Up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends in the field of sustainable horticulture and landscaping
- Availability to work at other DUT campuses, in evening and during weekends as required
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Doctoral degree in Horticulture or a related field.
Summary of duties
- Lecture in horticulture and landscape related subjects or other related subjects as deemed necessary by the HoD
- Conduct practicals, develop appropriate teaching aids and perform theoretical and practical assessments for students
- Assist in the curriculum development and writing of appropriate course material
- Participate in departmental activities including community engagement and research
- Perform administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department
- Community liaison and outreach work as required
- Acquire research funding and build a research portfolio within the field of horticulture and biodiversity
- Supervise students
