Job Summary

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a Lectureship in Mathematics (equivalent to an assistant professor in the US) . The position is open to any researcher in any area of analysis, (including Functional Analysis, Topology, Theoretical PDEs and Differential Geometry). The successful candidate will be expected to be a collegial, constructive member of the mathematics department.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Perform high-quality mathematics teaching/lecturing at undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD level, including service teaching to students with diverse mathematical backgrounds.
  • Establish their own research programme that attracts graduate students.
  • Be well organised and self-motivated.
  • Contribute to creating an environment which is safe, inclusive and accepting of diversity and difference.
  • Perform administrative service roles for the Department of Mathematics and for the Faculty of Science.
