Job Summary

Minimum Academic Requirements

• Master’s degree and undergraduate study in the field of Disaster and Risk Management and or Supply Chain Management ( Public Sector)
• 5 years teaching experience in the field of field of Public Administration and Management (Disaster and Risk Management and or Supply Chain Management within the Public Sector at university level. Additionally, exposure to teaching and industrial experience is required in Disaster and Risk Management; and Supply Chain Management
• Teaching at post graduate level and record of research publications in the area of Disaster Risk Management and Supply Chain Management in accredited journals would be a strong recommendation
• Preference will be given to applicants who are registered for a PhD in the above mentioned field of study.
• Develop online learning programmes as indicated in the field of study above.

Additional Requirements

• 2 years Public Sector related experience
• Demonstrate innovative thinking towards teaching and learning skills
• Availability to work at other DUT campuses, in the evening and weekends and sometimes away from home
• The candidate is at an advanced level of completing a PhD

Summary of Duties

• Take responsibility for the teaching, learning and assessing of modules offered, at all levels and associated with the programme in the Department
• Make major contributions to the academic quality by providing leadership of all aspects of offerings associated with the field of Public Management
• Lead, develop, design and review all learning content associated with Public Administration (Supply Chain Management and Disaster and Risk Management)
• Plan and organize educational field trips for students
• Supervise and co-supervise postgraduate students
• Publish in reputable journals
• Promote community engagement within the department
• General administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department
