The Department of Economics is regarded as one of the leading Economics groups in Australasia. It has a strong research culture and comprehensive teaching programmes at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Faculty members are active in publishing in leading international peer-reviewed journals, attracting external grants, supervising doctoral students, and contributing to policy debate – domestically as well as internationally.
The Department is seeking to appoint up to two new faculty members to join its number. For one of the positions, the Department would be particularly interested in hearing from scholars working in the areas of empirical international economics including trade and/or international macroeconomics. The second position seeks expertise in the areas of environmental economics, urban economics or health economics. Applicants should have a demonstrable track record in research (as evidenced by publications in leading peer-reviewed journals), and be committed to ensuring that teaching is informed by relevant research and enhanced by appropriate learning technologies.
