Application Fee

• A Premium School Development Levy (PSDL) is a one-off fast track payment.
• The Standard School Development Levy (SSDL) is payable by all children entering DBIS (apart from those paying the PSDL).
• Both levies are non-refundable and non-transferable.
• Either levy must be paid before the commencement date of studies at DBIS.
• The second payment of the Standard School Development Levy must be settled by 1st June, prior to the start of the next school year.
• For Year 12 entry, no Levy is required, however, a deposit of two months' school fees is required. The two months' deposit is refundable against the first two months' school fees in September and October.

Conditions of Payment

• School fees are payable in 10 monthly payments.
• Payment of fees is due on the first day of each month. A monthly statement of account will be issued detailing the transactions for the respective month.
• Payment must be made by way of autopay, cheque or bank transfer. Cheques should be crossed and made payable to “Discovery Bay International School Ltd.”.
• Credit card facility is available with an extra charge to cover bank transaction fees.
• Payment by autopay is preferred and the School recommends a limit of HK$20,000 per month. The monthly autopay date will be at, or as close to the fourth day of each month. An administrative charge of HK$100 will be imposed on returned autopay accounts.
• Fees are to be settled within 14 days from the date of invoice. If payment of school fees and other outstanding invoices are not received by the 15th of each month, a late charge of HK$200 will be added each month.
• Please note that the School holds parents responsible for the payment of fees, regardless of any personal arrangement parents may have with employers or other third parties.
• In the case of outstanding school fees and other unpaid invoices, the school reserves the right to withhold the student’s school reports and the student may be subjected to possible suspension.
• Once excluded, students will not be re-admitted until all arrears are cleared and at least one further month’s fees are paid in advance. There will be no guarantee that an excluded student will be returned to his or her former class.
• The School will collect a deposit fee in July. This is equivalent to one month of school fees and will be offset against September school fees. The deposit fee will be deducted from the payee’s autopay account on 5th July.
• No refund or reduction of fees will be made in the event the School is unable to open due to Force Majeure i.e. fire, weather conditions, war, governmental action, acts of terrorism, riots, epidemic, pandemic or any other event beyond the School’s control.
