Fees & Bursaries

As part of our registration, a non-returnable fee of £180 for UK-based applicants and £250 for overseas applicants (inclusive of VAT) is required to complete the process.

The registration fee applies to the year of entry you are registering for. A new registration fee will be required if you withdraw or are unsuccessful in gaining a place in that year, but wish to apply for entry at a different point.

Acceptance & Deposit
Upon accepting an offer to join the Prep School, a non-returnable deposit of £1,850 is required to secure and confirm your child’s place. For the Senior School, the amount is £3,500. This deposit will be offset against the pupil’s final term invoice unless you have decided to participate in our ‘Donate Your Deposit Bursary Programme’.

Termly Fees Effective 1 September
Our school fees include VAT and cover normal curriculum tuition, lunches, most clubs, activities and day trips, special education needs provision and counselling. In Years 4 to 8, fees also cover the cost of one term-time residential trip each year.

  • Fledglings, Nursery: £5,870
  • Reception: £6,790
  • Years 1 and 2: £7,750
  • Years 3 and 4: £8,705
  • Years 5 to 9: £9,745

Boarding Fees
Boarding options are available to families with pupils in Years 3 to 8. Our fees include breakfast, supper, before & after-school wraparound care, and are inclusive of VAT. Flexi-Boarding is £75 per night, and Weekly Boarding (Monday to Friday) is £270. We also offer the option of boarding weekly for a whole term, and our combined termly day and boarding fees are as follows:

  • Years 3 & 4: £12,005
  • Years 5 to 8: £13,045

Bursaries
We offer a limited number of means-tested bursaries to new applicants entering Year 3 or above who would otherwise not be able to afford to come to Dulwich Prep & Senior. These pupils are academically gifted boys who have the aptitude to benefit from the school’s wide variety of opportunities.

Applications for bursary places should be made by the registration deadline, as advised in our entry procedures the year prior to entry. Applicants will be invited to attend an assessment, during which they will complete a number of tests and an interview.

In addition to the application form, parents must complete a confidential statement of financial circumstances, which requests full details of income and capital resources. Before an award is offered, we will arrange a home visit to discuss the details.

Bursaries are reviewed annually and may be adjusted or introduced if parents’ circumstances change during a pupil’s time at the school. Please visit our Register & Apply page to complete an application.

Additional Costs

Co-Curricular
As part of our co-curricular programme, we provide a range of clubs delivered by external specialists and offer a number of optional international trips during the school holidays that are not included in our termly fees. In addition, as our Year 3 residential term-time trip is optional, we ask for a contribution towards the cost.

Music Tuition
From September, the respective teachers will charge individual instruction at a suggested rate of £30.00 per lesson. There are usually 30 lessons per year. If a pupil needs to hire a school instrument, there is a separate charge for the hire. Please get in touch with the Music Department directly for details.

Uniform
Our school uniform is purchased directly from our supplier, Thomas Schoolwear, and is not included in our termly fees.

Wraparound Care
Our provision is called ‘@38’ and is available from 7.00am to 7.30pm, Monday to Friday, during term time. In addition, we offer termly, weekly, and flexi-boarding, neither of which is included in our termly fees.
