Geraldton Grammar School

An annual $700 compulsory building levy per family, and $250 technology levy per family is payable for families with students enrolled in pre primary to year 12. These funds assist with annual debt servicing commitments, and technology investments respectively.

Family concessions

Concessions are allowed for the children of a family attending the school concurrently. They apply to tuition fees only.

Parents who opt to pay the whole year’s tuition fees before 14 February will receive a discount of 2.5%. Payments received after this date will not be eligible for the 2.5% discount.

Enrolments after Commencement of Term

When a student commences at the school after the term has commenced, enrolment will be accepted with payment of the registration fee and endowment contribution, with the term fee being charged at a pro-rata rate. Pro-rata fees are calculated as a proportion of the annual fee.

Payment of account

The annual fee is payable by the end of the second week of each term for 3 year olds to year 12 in three equal installments due on the Friday of the second week of terms 1, 2 and 3.

Notice of Withdrawal

One (1) term’s notice in writing or one (1) term’s fees is required in lieu of notice given before the withdrawal of a student as per the Enrolment Application agreement.

Deductions

No deductions from fees are allowed for delays in students returning to school at the commencement of a term or leaving school prior to term concluding as well as for illness.

Non Payment of Fees

Collection of fees outstanding

The school will follow up outstanding accounts. A debt collection agency and court proceedings will be used if necessary where accounts are outstanding. Parent(s)/guardian(s) understand that payment of parent(s)/guardian(s) account is their responsibility. Should your account be placed in hands of debt recovery consultants, then you hereby agree to pay all expenses relating to the recovery of your account, and any default debt may be reported to a credit agency. Non-payment may put your child’s enrolment at risk.

Cancellation of enrolment

The School reserves the right to cancel a student enrolment for non-payment of school fees. Enrolment will be cancelled at the end of a term if fees for that term have not been paid, unless an approved payment arrangement has been made.

Administration for outstanding fee

Outstanding fees may be subject to an administration charge of 1% per month.

Annual Camps

Annual camps will normally be organised for students from year 4 upwards. The cost of compulsory curriculum camps are included in the annual tuition fee. There is no refund if a student cannot attend a camp or the camp is cancelled due to an unforeseen circumstance. Subject specific and special interest camps are optional and are charged separately.

Additional Charges

Booklists and uniforms are additional to all other fees. From time to time there may be other charges where applicable. Tuition fees do not attract GST, but other goods and services may. If a student requires a lock for their locker the cost is $16.

The School Uniform Shop

Items which are for sale at the School’s Uniform Shop are to be paid for at the time of purchase during the course of the school year. Payment must be made at the point of sale.

Secondary School Scholarships

The Secondary School Scholarship is for remission of half the tuition fees for years 7,8 and 9, if a year 6 student is successful or for years 8 and 9 if a year 7 student is successful. The remission of half tuition fees for years 10, 11 and 12 if a year 9 student is successful or for years 11 and 12 if a year 10 student is successful. Applications for scholarships usually close in March of each year.

Student Accident Protection Plan

The School has arranged an Accident Insurance Plan. The cost will be borne by the School. The School will pay the premium and automatically cover every student. A schedule of benefits and coverage is available from the Business Manager by email to [email protected].

Acceptance of Contract

The details of this fees and charges schedule forms part of the offer/acceptance contract signed by parents with Geraldton Grammar School. The Board of Governors reserves the right to alter fees and charges as circumstances require.
