Cost Estimate

The cost of your Hotchkiss tuition may vary slightly from the numbers below. These figures will guide you toward a realistic expectation for the upcoming school year. Our fee breakdown includes the cost of boarding school and day school tuition. This number also includes your technology fee and health services fee.

In addition, you may view a list of common expenses that arise. This may include textbooks, school supplies, laundry and personal spending. View the breakdown below for an idea of how much a typical student spends each month or school year.

Other Expenses To Consider

Expenses will vary based on a student's needs or course load. Below is an estimated snapshot for what to expect.

• Books and supplies: $850 average/year. Most books can be ordered online through our provider. Additional books and supplies are available at the campus store.
• Health insurance: 10-month plan: $1,900, 12-month plan $2,110
• Laundry: Students have access to laundry and dryer machines within various dorms. A third party laundering service is also available with packages averaging $740 - $920/year.
• Spending money: While the School provides full meals and necessary services, there may be times when students will wish to use discretionary funds for a variety of reasons (e.g., snacks, haircuts, outside meals, extra supplies). Each student is different; in general average expenses can range from $50 - 75/month.

We are dedicated to making Hotchkiss a private school that is accessible to all families. We value diversity in all shapes and seek to make Hotchkiss a place of learning for the best and the brightest. Currently, 38% of our student body receives financial aid, with an average grant of $50,206.

Our aid goes beyond tuition by helping families cover the costs of books, personal spending money, health insurance and travel assistance. We provide each student with a School-issued MacBook for studying, writing and research.

Loan Program

Your Tuition Solution Loan Program

Families are eligible to apply for a loan through Your Tuition Solution. This offers a flexible repayment system ranging between 24 to 84 months. Families are loaned up to $40,000 without any prepayment penalties.

Payment Plans

All student tuition billing and payment processing is managed through FACTS Tuition Management. FACTS provides optimal flexibility and cutting-edge technology that will allow our families to effectively view and manage their tuition and fees in full detail at their convenience.

After completion of the Hotchkiss Enrollment Contract, families will receive an email from FACTS to register and choose their payment option and method of payment for the year.

Enrollment fees (and security deposits for new students) are due upon registration in FACTS.

After enrollment fees are paid, there are three payment options available:

• One payment in full due June 1 (option to waive tuition refund insurance if paying in full)
• Two payments due June 1 and November 1 (tuition refund insurance is mandatory)
• Ten monthly payments due June 1 through March 1 (tuition refund insurance is mandatory)**

**There is a $100 fee for the ten monthly payments option, which will be added to your first payment.
